I’m really sorry to keep bringing this kind of thing up, because I know it is upsetting a group of you guys. However, I feel very strongly that there are huge bugs with both Tranquility immunity and aspect of the turtle that are just being written off as misplays.
You can cleave into Tranquility immunity with trick shots, so long as the cleave target is close enough to the druid for trick shots to hit it, outside of the spell-in-flight scenario. I am extremely interested to see if the reproduceable bugs with turtle also work into Tranquility immunity. I.e. blade flurry and sweeping strikes in identical test conditions. Blade flurry will cleave/duplicate into turtle, sweeping strikes will not despite being an identical mechanic. Charge + warbringer is another scenario to be tested.
The existence of these scenarios alongside what’s assumed to be in-flight spell mechanics in other scenarios make it hard to trust that in-flight spell mechanics are all that’s going on, or that they’re being calculated properly in my opinion. There is a certain point where theories just become impossible to prove despite you observing evidence of them, because you do not have the ability to parse swing/global timers on other character’s clients or the timestamps at the server level that are supposed to determine which event happened first. Looking at an ability this inconsistent and then coming to the conclusion that in-flight mechanics ALWAYS work properly with them in the way we conventionally understand them to work is not logical.

I see the walls of text comments being ignored or buried on reddit
What prompted this, exactly
Just turtle earlier
I think the abilities are bugged. In a game where AWC matches are commonly decided by clutch saves at 1%, I feel like it’s important for these abilities to not be bugged. If nothing else, there should be a consistently understood set of conditions that break them, like how we understand with the other defensives.

Abilities cast prior to turtle will always go through as seen in the Ascend clip.
If we’re referring to the cleave/aoe/splash stuff then that’s something else, but something I feel like most hunters are already usually aware of.

And sometimes abilities cast after turtle also go through. The ones that do follow no logical or consistent pattern.

IDK about trick shots but sweeping isn’t at all identical to flurry
Flurry generates a circular aoe around the rogue that is its own spell
Sweeping applies a modified duplicate of the spell to a secondary target

The point is that there is not a logical pattern or category of spells that break the mechanic. There is a pattern and documented explanation for the things that go through dodge, block, and parry. The things that remove immunities say that they remove immunities. Having a secret list of random things that go through when similar ones don’t is not a good way for the abilities to work.

I don’t think that’s the salient takeaway here
A select few spells that rarely see use in rated PVP have failed to receive bugfixes that every other ability in the game more frequently flung against defensive CDs have long since gotten, is what I’d say
Charge gets deflected, the warbringer that procs off of it does not. Flurry and trick shots are not deflected, sweeping strikes is. All of them happen very clearly after turtle is already active.

That is an accurate summary of both the game as I understand it and the clips you linked here
It has no bearing on the inaccuracy I commented on
Please explain the logical and consistent pattern between warbringer going through when a charge is deflected by active turtle, then blade flurry and trick shots going through while sweeping strikes doesn’t. This is not a category of ability, this is a random list.

why did this warrant a second thread for another ability with the same problems that functions exactly the same way

Because both of them are broken

And they’re broken for the same reason, so this could’ve been consolidated into one thread. I would say in the bug report forums, but if blizzard ever did anything about those blur wouldn’t still be 80% dodge.
Would it make you feel better if I deleted this thread and replied to the other one as a comment?
This applies, with the modifier that war bringer is just weird
Its pick rate has declined heavily in recent times and throwing charge into a turtled hunter is not a good long term move even in the sl war bringer heyday. By that token I would include it in my described criteria
What spell shows up in the combat log when trick shots deals damage?
If you had every modifier up and were playing double time because it’s hunter/healer 2s then throwing both into turtle and killing them from 30% was a kneeslapper
What if we just refrained from discussing it again
Outside of maybe like a definitive list of stuff that goes through post-cast to see if there’s anything that’s relevant enough to remember
It doesn’t show up at all in my combat log or details.
