Today I had seen another hunter with the armor set from Trial of Valor, the green variety which I guess is the LFR version and I wanted to get it myself. I have questions and hoping someone could clear some things up. I read up a bit and thought you had to complete the quest Trial of Valor: The Lost Army, by collecting 1K Valarjar Soul Fragments. It also seems like the normal/heroic/mythic difficulty levels award you the whole transmog set for the difficulty you’re running. after downing end boss.
So as far as getting the green set, I have to actually get the 1K soul fragments for it to complete the quest ?
I cleared LFR solo and got some fragments, but the green transmog set didn’t drop off end boss. Then I cleared heroic and got the orange transmog set for that difficulty. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t screw myself and not be able to get the green set, I picked up the quest while in LFR.
I don’t remember if the quest you got was tied to the difficulty. I want to say that it was just the normal version of the set that came from that quest, but I could be wrong.
The ensembles aren’t guaranteed drops from Helya. The only one that was, was the mythic set you got for completing The Chosen achievement (which was removed in 8.0).

The lfr set has a very low drop rate from any difficulty of Trial of Valor (Guarm or Helya.) It can even drop from Mythic. The 1k soul fragments are for the normal difficulty set that is primarily yellow.
Heroic was a guaranteed drop, which you got.

Appreciate the replies. I was souped up to get the LFR set after seeing it on another hunter. The set for some reason doesn’t shown on the in game appearances and I never knew it existed. With a big lack of cool hunter gear I was excited to see this set.
Can’t wait to clear LFR Tuesday after the unlock, hopefully the LFR set drops.
Run the other difficulties, too. I’m not sure you understand how low a drop rate this set has.

You’re right definitely. After set dropped in heroic I thought it dropped more frequently than it does. Crossing my fingers its drops after the reset in LFR. But thanks for tempering my expectations since it could take many many runs to finally get it .
