I never really got into it so much but I had a lot of fun today in the trial of style. There are so many creative and fun people lol
My favorite one was an orc who for the theme “profession expression” dressed up as a pooper scooper it was so good and rightfully won that round. He had a shovel with a green yucky looking enchant on it and a gas mask.
There was also a rogue who dressed up for “freestyle” in all black except her helm and shoulders which glowed purple like her weapons. It looked cool. I wish I took screenshots.
I’ll definitely be participating more in this even though I’m not that good. I still got lots of currency to buy extra stuff anyways. Even got 2nd place once!
I thoroughly enjoyed the last one I did, earlier this year. I’d not done it in some years. I’m passing this time around as there was nothing new on the vendors.
What’s funny is that I think the elf characters are the prettiest but it’s the big guys that pull looks off so much better without shirts and whatnot. It doesn’t look so boring if it’s done good!
But they really need to remove some of the excessively silly categories.
Namely:
Mismatched Mayhem
Make Me Laugh
They just result in people throwing together the worst possible transmogs and it’s not fun or interesting. There’s only so much difference between 2 multicolored clown suits or people using fish maces and a chef hat.
The rest are fine.
There are also some issues with blatant bad faith voting and wintrading every time they actually add new rewards, but honestly it’s not worth addressing, because any change that “fixes” that would result in a worse overall experience.
