So I am curious if anyone else has watched Trese on Netflix? As an adult animation/anime series focusing on Philipino mythology and the occult I was instantly interested seeing I had little knowledge of either and the trailer looked pretty awesome. I do have to say it is really spot on of Netflix to cast Philipino voice actors for all of the roles, it gives authenticity to the show as much as its credibility around the culture too.
When it comes to the show itself? For a horror/supernatural detective series, it is spot on. The storytelling is very good and sets up for some great things along the season, while the show also takes the time to focus on the backstory of the main character Alexanda Trese as well. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re into such shows or looking for something new to watch, it’s worth it.
