Do any of you have special items in-game that are absolutely useless in just about every way, but you’re still holding onto them, wasting bank space, just because you feel some type of way about them?
Same question can be asked for your character too! Some silly, useless item that they casually treasure?
I can’t think of any for my characters at the moment, but OOC I have a few!

Shay has a grey-item “Scandalous Silk Nightgown” wasting bank space because I swear that’s going to be hilariously used some day in the future in RP or chat or SOMETHING.

On my first server Bloodscalp, some of my old hunters still have a “certificate of ownership” to rename their pet, and quivers full of arrows too, which I thought was a neat little blast to the past.
What about you? I’m curious to hear about long-forgotten items stowed away or fun, useless favs.

My DK may still have (or I may have tossed it, either way I haven’t checked in a long time and it was there for years) some grey item implied pet toy. It had a roughed up teddy for an icon. When I transferred over and first made some friends, when I was introduced to this orc lad ooc, he trudged over and opened trade. He thrust the teddy upon me and told me I damn well better hold onto it. Wild, but funny.
In character, Suyo here bought some flowers and held them in a vase and carried it with her for weeks, or maybe months, I’m not 100%. Across fields, over mountains, and into battle. She refused to set them down. Inevitably she dropped them, shockingly, but she’s held onto those flowers ever since still. They’re one of the only real indulgences she’s ever allowed herself.

I think it’s fairly common to do so but I still have Rhea’s Last Egg in the bank of every character who has done that quest. I also keep every copy of Emmigosa I get; I don’t have the heart to destroy her.
I try to keep things that my character would cherish &/or hoard. For my goblin, she has a Mount Kajaro Keepsake, which to be fair is sold as a souvenir, but I also kept the Empty Town-In-A-Box for nostalgia.
Oh! Most of my rogues have a Rogue’s Diary in their bank.

My hunter has a spyglass that my wife made for me in RP. From TBC. He’s no longer that same character, but I still keep it. (and 400 Mammoth Cutter bullets, and Mature Blue Dragon Sinew, and the Heart of Hakkar, and 800 Scourgestones, and…)
Same with most things she gives me. Like the plush raptor toy she randomly bought and traded to me in Suramar on my DH.

I have the Hammer of Zul’Farrak. Finished it before Cata hit. Completely useless to me as a mage, can’t be equipped to show it off either. Perhaps one day it may be of some use, possibly through alleviating transmog restrictions.

My paladin still has his holy mightstone or whatever from vanilla with that WPL quest. I think it increases damage against undead and I was planning on using it if Arthas ever became a raid boss. I had switched to hunter by then, though.
Also of course haute club memberships are essential

My original lock still has all the ritual components for summoning his Dreadsteed.
My original Wrath DK has a Crusader Skull from the intro scenario as well as a Haunted Memento from the Scourge invasions.

Oh boy do I. I keep all items I’m gifted in RP outside of something I’m given in bulk (someone once gave me 220 blood apples). I have in my bank right now…

Embroidered boots, pants, and armor from the time someone threw Altielle in a lake and felt bad so they took her to the tailor’s to get dry clothes. Then instead of paying they told her to book it out of the store.

A black diamond ring and a miniscule diamond ring given to Altielle by her (now) best friend who once found her drunk and convinced her they were married. Even got her the rings as proof.

An embersilk gown someone gifted to Altielle for being a good friend to them.

A silver mackerel sent in the mail from one of my friends along with one silver where the mail was simply “silver for your thoughts”.

A timeworn pressed flower given to Altielle by a friend.

A lovely black dress given to Altielle after someone used a chemical to melt her clothes in order to cause a distraction long enough for them to steal a magical tome off her.

Then there are the letters I receive ICly, which I always keep copies of. Plus the OOC letters Shaysinn has exchanged with me because they’re sweet and I need something uplifting to read sometimes. And the elekk plushie she sent is special to me too.

See, now I don’t feel as bad about having one character with half a bank full of just letters…IC letters, OOC letters, letters from the game that have meaning to me, etc…

I think about keeping screenshots of moments in RP that truly impress upon me, but I always convince myself that would be creepy without permission. So instead I just keep all the letters.
Sometimes I still wish I did do screenshots, though. It would be nice to go back and relive some of Altielle’s early days in RP, including the first nights she meets her best friends of today.

I have at least 7 different folders of screenshots from funny moments in the game/chats/rp scenes/etc.

I’m probably just overthinking it. Also a bit hard to know what’s going to be a legendary start to a friendship that’s lasted almost a year and what will be a brief meeting where the characters talk for a night and never see each other again.
I’m still holding onto the plate set from the Darkspear Rebellion patch, 5.3. It’s in my tmog library, and it’s only a reskin of an older set anyway, but…
I like it.
I’ve kept it as a little exclusive set of items from an event that no longer exists, I guess. XD

I have multiple characters who still have the Light of Elune in their banks. I don’t even know exactly how it works, because I’ve never used it on any of them. I keep thinking that I should wait for some really emblematic moment to us it… and then I forget about it.
