Treasure Map Screw Up

You know what would be fun? Being able to play WoW for ten minutes without having to go to wowhead.com to learn how to finish a quest. I just lost five treasure maps because the people at Blizzard were too lazy to bother with a description of what they do, how long they last, or even the slightest hint that they did anything when activated. How long do you think you’d last at your job if your work was this sloppy?

Pretty long considering it took me all of 3 seconds thought to figure out what to do with them.

If you’re so smart, why don’t you make your own game?

you’re the reason theres arrows that point to everything in game and 4 hour tutorials

You have an item with a tool tip that says it gives you a Mission
You have a Mission table.
On top of that you should already have more or less used the same mechanic to unlock the extra flight points on the other continent.
Does not take a game designer to put 2 and 2 together there.

So.
Quickly now!
Tell me what I’m suppose to do with them.

Aside from missing the ques on the item itself,

are you actually telling me you went through FIVE TREASURE MAPS in 2-3 weeks all the while wondering ??? WHAT DO THESE EVEN DO??? without ever considering going to google and typing in some variation of what do i do with the island expo treasure map???

2 weeks??? never googled once???

both my brother and me thought the same thing at the start of the expansion.
“you know, a really well made game wouldn’t need google as a side-guide”

but the feeling goes away once you’ve googled a whole bunch
you might have issues getting empathy from this crowd as they are accustomed to the game being that way.

during TBC, wrath, and cata when the game was widely considered “good” overall was the time that i spent the most on third party stuff google wowhead elitist jerks

a turtle has made it to the water

So… I take it no one’s going to tell me?

Get the map.
Use it.
Go to Mission Table.
Complete mission that appears because you used the map.

I think OPs point was that they’re poorly designed because you need to google what to do with them except, as I already said, you really don’t if you put a few seconds thought into it.

By using you mean click and read it?
I’ve probably already did that and any mission given from it.
Still in my bags though. Just like a lot of other stuff that didn’t disappear after completing the quests or whatever that uses them.

Should just be right-click, it disappears, and in your mission table there’s one called “Mission to somewhere” ( the actual name escapes me right now)
Same thing applies if you buy the scouting reports from the 7th Legion/Honorbound emmisary for the extra flight points.

i think he might be talking about the 4 piratey maps you end up with if you did all the quests.

all my 4 characters have them , havnt googled what to do with em just yet

No these aren’t those.
I have four not five, and they’re singed, soggy, yellow, and fading.

Think you might be looking at different maps to what everyone else is talking about.
What’s the actual name of the item?

And after googling one of them, they are maps to treasure chests that appear near the hinted coordinates given in each. Not really much to be made in wealth though.

those are the names.
