Anyone else feel like treasure chests no longer serve a purpose anymore? I remember back in the day being really excited to find one because they would usually grant a green or blue item, but now I just ignore them because there’s nothing worth while inside them.
I feel that Blizzard should go back to the old system of just treating them like mob loot with a higher chance to drop greens and blues. If that’s not something you want to do at least change the in game model to a dumpster or something, because that’s what looting a chest feels like now, digging through someone’s trash.

I don’t go out of my way to open one, sometimes tho when it’s in my way I’ll kick it open. Theye’r a joke.
If I pretend that it’s Jani leaving presents for her favorite richmon then it’s almost tolerable. Almost.

I think every treasure chest should give exactly 50 war resources and occasionally a blue BoE item.

The ones in darkshore can at least give armor and weapon mogs for the new warfront tier gear.

Right? if they can do it for Darkshore, the same should be true for all BFA zones. Would love to see them give consumables, mats, rep tokens, and even transmog items. I like the idea of boe blues. At the very least they should give more war resources as they can be hard to come by outside of emissaries and warfront quests.
Yep, managed to snag that fancy shield I have mogged from one of them. And I’ve seen a few other pieces drop too.

Pretty sure they still give experience while leveling. At least they do in Legion. My death knight was getting good experience for them last night.
They are really bad, in BFA. They are pointless to bother with.
I liked on Argus, where they’d give me a Legendary or the Green armor set pieces, or something.
Whoah, I did not know the darkshore ones can maybe give the mogs; I was looting them anyway, but saying “meh.”
There are the puzzle ones that give gear. The rest I ignore. In less it say weapon catch. with a grey weapon worth 25g not bad. compared to getting 3 gold lol.
Probably opened thousands of chests in BFA between all my toons and only seen 1 epic, I used to go out of my way all the time to open them for that chance of something cool. But now I don’t even bother they need to upgrade the war resources and drops in them drastically.
Much like rare mobs used to be rare and not every 3rd target like they have been the last couple of expacs?
That, or redesign all the chests to look like trash cans.
