Anyone else experiencing issues with transmute procs?
at first i thought it was just bad RNG but now that the patch is out I’ve just experienced some strange behaviour.
The new patch added the quest “Cardinal Ruby” (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=14151/cardinal-ruby)
The quest objective is to transmute 5/5 of any of the epic gem recipes to unlock the Red gem transmute recipe.
I tried it on multiple characters and what i noticed was that not a single of them had any transmutation procs resulting in extra gems however some would get different quest objective updates, one character even got 5/5 and has the quest completed this leads me to believe that there may be an issue with the transmute proc itself not actually resulting in extra yield even tho it was supposed to have “procced”.
Can anyone else confirm/deny actually getting extra gems from transmutation procs?
Either way the quest is bugged or there is an issue with the transmutation procs.
I can confirm that Epic Gem Transmutes are NOT working correctly. I have 20 transmutation specialist alchemist toons that I use daily. Everday for the past 2 phases doing Eternal Water to Fire they range from an occasional x2 all the way up to x5 transmute procs. Yesterday I picked up the Cardinal Ruby quest on all of them, and you can tell from the quest objective when there is a transmute proc as some of them got credit for 2 or 3 and one even got credit for making 5 King’s Ambers. HOWEVER, I never got additional gems in my inventory. Every transmute still only gave ONE gem even thou the quest tracker shows it should have been a multiple proc.
TL;DR - Epic gem transmutes are BUGGED AND NOT rewarding transmutation specialist procs.

Can confirm, I had mats for 5 amber transmutes ready to go…was at 2/5 on the quest this AM…transmuted and it went to 4/5 on the quest for card ruby…but only got 1 transmuted gem…kinda lame
They must have hotfixed something because NOW, today I got a couple x2 gems created when doing the transmutes, HOWEVER the quest tracker only went up by 1 each time.
I would think that is how the quest should work…its one transmute each quest credit no mater how many procs. At least they did it before I can proc any rubies.
Similar experience here, I just now crafted a king’s amber and went from 2/5 to 5/5 with no extra gems awarded.
