Sooo a $10 toy in the cash shop definitely isn’t the most heinous thing Blizzard has ever done.
But does it seriously need an hour cooldown and 20 minute duration?
Why?

seems fairly inline with most transformation toys. Not saying I approve but I dont think it should really be that shocking
Other transformation toys don’t cost $10, though.
Because they don’t want it to feel “mandatory” of course! Isn’t that the usual excuse for “we nerfed this thing into the ground”?
Blizzard seems to think we mustn’t be tempted by the possibility of having too much fun. Fun must be carefully rationed.
Friends got it because it’s not even that expensive since you can just buy a token to buy it. Though they found out the trashy part about it is there is a hidden 1-hour debuff keeping you from using it again, so you can’t just have a full raid of raid/dungeon bosses killing raid bosses.
Though it was weird doing Opulence as Elissande while our tank was dungeon Kael Thas.
Thankfully they were able to refund it when a second person bought it to find out it was useless because of that hidden debuff.
#reason: regret
Oh, now that debuff is dirty. Not enough to prevent a player from having excess fun by putting a CD on the toy, they also had to ensure he couldn’t have any unauthorized fun via a friend’s toy.
And yet, they broke the moonkin statue completely, rather than simply…creating a debuff that would prevent the effect from re-applying. The debuff on this toy demonstrates they COULD have left the moonkin statue alone, and simply let players click off the appearance and be protected by their debuff.
These kinds of decisions really do support the “Blizzard hates fun” meme.
Imagine selling a toy for real money then nerfing it, what a disappointment. A 30 min cd wouldnt be bad but 1 hour? Overkill.
So? $25 mounts function exactly the same as free mounts.
Possible fun detected
Dev 1: This toy is gonna be amazing!
Applying Restriction
Dev 2: Oooof. That takes the joy right out of it.
Dev 1: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Actually a bit better. Most give 10 or less minutes in the form
Should be 20 minute duration and 19 minute cooldown, that way the CD is up by the time the duration expires. We pay for this toy with real US Dollars, so why does it have such an absurd cooldown?
The 20 min duration & 1 hour cooldown is fine honestly, the problem is the 1 hour HIDDEN internal cooldown, meaning if you get a buff you can’t get another for an hour, even if someone else places one.
I bought one so our guild could chain 3 together, but with this internal debuff I can’t. It’s still cool for mythic+ & battlegrounds, I just wish I could have perma buff in raids
I’m looking forward to loot boxes.
I do not understand this.
1 Hour CD, but it persists through anything aside from RBG/Arena buff removal; it even persists through even death. Quit complaining.
I don’t know about you but our Raid Leader has the toy and it’s so FUN.
We beat Mythic Opulence as a full raid of old world bosses. It was kinda epic.
The issue I have is that the hour cooldown is an hour for ALL transmorpher beacons. 3 of us in raid bought the toy in hopes of just permacycling. Once you get the transform you cannot transform again for an hour REGARDLESS of who uses the toy.
I’d probably get this item if it weren’t for the downtime part.
It looks fun, but the fun seems awfully limited for something I would have to pay to use.
There’s always been draconian cooldowns on the fun toys.
It should be a half hour minimum. >:(
It’s more along the lines of the fact that the toy has an internal cooldown that people seem to have issues with. In a raid there is ZERO reason for multiple people to buy the toy because they all share cooldowns with each other. We had a few people buy it to keep it going all night or to reroll the costumes. Too bad that isn’t how it works at all so people straight up threw money in the trash.
