Transmopher Beacon Already Nerfed?

Why? I’m not even talking about the cooldown on the item. Whatever Y’all did cause an internal cooldown on your character itself. So even If we have multiple raid members with the item. Only one is useful. I’m hoping this is just a bug introduced with the hotfix.

While I’m not surprised there are limitations I can’t help but be disappointed that they would change the item’s behavior after people had already bought it. That just seems shady. The only saving grace is that they did it on day one before a lot more people buy it.

Edit: Like the name. Het’s vocal range really shows on that song.

Reminds me of how people bought the wind up train wrecker when it was bugged and you could annoy people clear across the zone. Of course they waited a bit to get people to buy it before they nerfed (well fixed) it.

This item doesn’t seem worth $10 for sure, now.

I really hope randomly yelling boss quotes while in combat isn’t a bug… It’s the best part of the toy.

I will say, this is really crummy on a $10 toy. This should have been finalized before releasing. If it had been a 1hr CD to begin with then no one would blink an eye I feel. The fact that AFTER people had already bought it with set expectations it then changes is kinda bad…

Given the fact that its a toy purchased with real cash, why can’t this slide this time? I really do not understand the constant nerfing to fun toys such as the Darkmoon Fire Wings and stuff like this. It’s honestly mystifying and it would be really great to hear why this keeps happening.

How does those items having lower cooldown’s negatively impact others? What is the justification for changes like that? It would really be cool to get some insight on why changes like this happen.

I don’t see why it would be a bug. Look at the Gamon or Millhouse toys. They quote stuff all the time while you have them on in combat.

Edit: Fixed the great Gamon’s name, feeling much shame for having one too many “m”'s in it.

Update: So, I got some information wrong on my part. See the updated post here

I guess, lucky for me they changed it before I made my purchase so I got what I was expecting.

That does sounds pretty crappy.

I’m not understanding what they changed. What did they change exactly?

Cooldown went from being 10 minutes to 1hr while the duration did not change.

Update: The toy did go live with a 1hr cd though as it turns out and was not changed after releasing like it was presumed. It was datamined earlier on as only being 10 minutes on the CD but actually went like with a 1hr cooldown. Bad information on my part.

ty for explaining. It was like that when I got the toy so I guess they made the change before I got it. A 20-minute buff and an hour cooldown seems reasonable to me. But maybe I wouldn’t think so if I’d gotten it with the original 10-minute cd. meh…

Yeah, and I kinda mentioned that. If it released with a 1hr cooldown I doubt people would bat an eye at it. The fact that it was changed AFTER going live and I am sure people already bought it with expectations of what they were getting, that’s the part that annoys me.

I am not one to jump on that whole bandwagon of “Fun Detected, nerf!” ideology but it would be great to have an answer on why this keeps happening with toys.

Update: As posted above, got some bad information/understanding on my part.

Thank you for letting us know.

I was going finish this up today.

^^ I still don’t really understand this part here. If you have multiple raid members with the item only one is useful…? What?

If you use the buff once you cannot get it again until the hour is up, rendering a friend’s toy useless to you

ty for explaining.

Personally, it makes sense to me that it would be this way.

Actually there is a lua command that let’s you remove the hidden debuff from you. I won’t post it here because blizzard may nerf that as they did the worgen /transform pre-two forms quest, but it’s on wowhead.

But this effectively let’s you change to a new boss every 20min or whenever you right click off the buff.

However after seeing the madness this causes in raiding… it’s only a matter of time before it’s nerfed… (then again, moonkin statue went unchanged for all of legion)

Lmao…wow, they sell you the item for cash and then nerf it after you buy it.

That is a new low on the Fun Detected scale Blizzard.

Surprised it even works in an instance considering the fireworks toy does not work in BG’s. Why sell a toy that celebrates the death of your enemy with fireworks when you can’t even use it in BG’s?

Okay, so, foot in mouth time for me. Looks like I misunderstood some information and after some digging between Metro and myself, after arguing about this who situation, it looks like it actually went live with the 1hr cooldown and that the 10 minute cooldown was from earlier data mining of the toy.

That changes things a bit for me. If it had gone live with the 10 minute cooldown and then was hotfixed AFTER the fact then I would agree more with the outrage. However, because that is not the actual case I can’t really justify being upset over this since it never went live with the 10 minute cooldown.

I do, however, still think its a valid question to ask why fun toys such as these do get nerfed like this and what the harm is in letting people have there fun with lower cd’s. I still think its a valid point of discussion and conversation.

There was a Blue Post in the far, far past which basically can be summarized as “We want people to look at their actual toons instead of cycling through toys.”

Which isn’t a problem for us toy collectors anyhow. I don’t have to look at my base model unless I’m too lazy to cycle through toys.
