Personally, I’m a huge fan of Classic remaining classic in every sense (except heirlooms), but when it comes to character customization and building your character, I really love the idea of having Transmogrification for the purposes of picking our own distinct look.
Transmogrification adds to the replay factor of the game, as groups of people will raid more to gather the custom sets they want. There are so many excellent gearsets in this game, and it’s a shame to see them go to waste. Please consider this idea.

DISCLAIMER: Some people are confusing this idea with modern Retail Transmogrification, where you can equip epic level 80 gear on your level 5 character…This is NOT what I’m talking about. Anyone who played back in the day knows that Transmogging gear requires that you be the correct level for the gear, AND that you keep it in your Void Storage. Meaning that you EARNED it and that it is exclusive to the character you got it on. It also means you have the right to carry on with that achievement and represent.

How do you figure? It gives loads of replay value, customization, and has absolutely nothing to do with Retail’s problems. If anything, heirlooms are the most Retail part of Wrath Classic. That was one of the features that started the downward spiral of leveling characters and overall adventure. When instances became mindless and too easy.
Transmogrification only adds to the game, there’s no detraction. And there are literally hundreds of gear combinations, even in Classic.
Something, something…slippery slope.
This is the kinda crap that gets pulled in from retail that detracts from the meaning of why Classic Era was created.
Lets add transmog. Then more retail-esc additions. Then 5 years down the road when we have completely lost sight of the purpose of Classic Era and it is now a copy clone of retail, players will start asking for that “Classic vanilla experience”.
If you wanna play dress up, get the gear that isn’t class specific and wear it. Nothing is stopping you from where T0 dress as a warrior.

You sound hysterical. Transmogrification does not fundamentally alter the concept of Classic. The problem with retail is that it’s become mindlessly easy, vapid storytelling, and injected with political sewage. It has nothing to do with Transmogrification.

Where do you get gear that isn’t class specific? That’s not how Transmogrification works. As my mage I want to wreck Horde wearing my Tirisfal Gladiator hybrid set because it looks badass. That’s what Transmogrification is. You gather the gear your class can wear, then make a customized suit out of it. Again…there is no detraction from the game.

Level up and get better gear then. Or better yet, level up and retain the look of that gear should you choose it. That’s the benefit of this idea.
Yeah, as in me, because I’m the one who came up with the idea in the first place. Blizzard wouldn’t have implemented Transmog unless thousands of players agreed with me.
Are you? You know this is World Warcraft right? As in the game where collecting gear and self expression is a huge focus. If you lack the creativity to care about customizing your character, then that’s your problem. Don’t project your limitations on others.
