Transmoging

I see a lot of players with their gear and weapons “transmogrified” to be better. How do you do this? Is it hard or take forever??? I want to make sure I am using the best and most productive/powerful equipment.

Transmog is purely aesthetic. It doesn’t add any sort of power gain for your character.

Every piece of gear that is soulbound to your character is added to your list of available transmog options. (with the restriction of it having to be of the proper armor/weapon type. You can’t transmog plate armor as a hunter for example.) You do not have to keep this armor after it’s appearance is added to the list, you will have the appearance forever.

Your collections menu will show all available options that you currently have (Shift + J by default, then click on Appearances tab). In order to change your armor, you must visit a Transmogrifier NPC such as Warpweaver Hashom in the stormwind canals.

For a small fee per item, he will let you apply whatever appearance you want over your current armor.

ok good, if it is only for looks then I’m not going to bother with it. thanks!

For Horde, there is also a transmog NPC in Zaldazar down near the docks/boat. He is in a room with the Seals of Fate vendor and Azerite reforger. The room is one level below the fight path. you might not care about transmog now but you will later  Visit bloodmallet dot com to see the best Azerite traits, essences, and trinkets for your specs. Icy veins guides for rotations and talents. These will dramatically affect your power.

In case you are not aware, you can buy seals of wartorn fate to re-roll on bosses for a second chance at gear. I would use those on raid bosses.

Another important thing is the adventure guide on your micro bar. You can look up the loot on every dungeon and raid boss. Then you will know the best dungeons to run for loot you need, and which raid bosses to use extra rolls.

You say that now… but then one day you’re wearing pajamas and killing raid bosses with 1950’s toy ray gun (complete with zap zap sounds!) and wondering just how you can pull off looking like the gnome equivalent of Doreen Green aka The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl

It is a well-known fact* among players that a good xmog can boost your dps significantly.

*Where “fact” is defined as “superstition” or “old-wives’ tale”. Although having your character not look like they got dressed in the dark and running all of the content to get the appearances you want until your eyes bleed can, in fact, have a significant positive effect on your ability to play your class. Which consequently leads to better dps.
