cant u guys add a weapon box for felguard that way u can transmog. whatever in his slot that way it open up alot more for ur pet then just putting it it the first bag and u use what u got just saying there alot more u could do with it.
Does this end up changing what you can give your felguard with the glyph? Pets don’t have inventory or equipment, so they would have to add an entirely new system to do the exact same thing that it currently does.
Or how would you expect this to change how the weapon transmog functionality works?
im saying make them a inventory put a square box in it so they can put whatever 2 handed in it and u can transmog that it dont change on how it work. when its in ur first bag, just where u put it now
I guess I’m asking if it doesn’t change the result of changing appearances for your felguard’s weapon, why would they spend time building a completely new inventory system for dismissible pets?
That seems like a lot of effort to not gain anything.
I think it’s a good idea to further the pet customization. The new pet options we have are great, but they can continue to add upon it for sure.
Oh, I’m definitely in favor of more pet customization in general, particularly with the costly naming roulette minigame if you’re trying to get a specific name. But new skins, models, and other things are welcome as well.
I think there’s a few ways to do it.
- Add thematic weapons to choose from in the pet customization
This would be the simplest way to do it without needing to remove the old glyph. This way they can add some new Legion based weapons much like how they did the pet skins. This idea could also work for the Succubus as well.
- Add a transmog panel for your demon’s weapon
This one might be a bit clunkier, and it be weird for just one pet to work like this, but this way we could have access to our entire tmog library for our Felguard instead of clogging up bag space.
The part of not clogging up bag space is welcomed.
I think seeing a lot of cool two handed weapon on the trading post has me waiting something like you are describing. I’ve see a lot of good options pass bye. We can buy them but it learns the mog, doesn’t give us the item to hold in bag.
Bit of a miss, but with a transmog option for the fel guard weapon this would add way more customization options!
That’s true. You are limited to non cosmetic items simply because they don’t give you an item to hold.
How about Blizzard actually try making the glyph consistent.
The current glyph is bad because my Felguard has the transmog weapon sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t.
Or maybe for The War Within in the pet customization part in the barber shop they could add a weapon customization tab that accessses your Warband transmog and you can pick any 2 hander you want and they get rid of the glyph.
For the Warlock it frees up some bag space and removes the possibility of us accidentally selling or, worse, dis-enchanting their weapon. And there is the annoyance of your Felguard changing weapons because you’ve just picked up a grey 2H axe.
I’m not sure if creating a weapon slot for the Barber Shop would be the easiest way for them or if we could lock a designated bank space for it (hell, just greying out the weapon so we can’t sell or dis-enchant it would do) but something would be appreciated!
That’s fair. When I played demo, I had a few specific slots reserved for those items next to various other gadgets and trinkets that I wouldn’t ever sell.
I don’t know if setting up the barbershop customization would be easiest or something else. My guess is that inventory might be the hardest because you have to assign it to a pet, which the game just doesn’t have a system in place for that. I remember for void storage, they had to remove the key ring to free up a storage system that was attached to characters.
A lot of it depends on how their systems are setup, but I think the inventory one is unlikely.
I think the barber shop idea might be the easiest? All depends on where the spaghetti codes are haha. But free up a bag slot would be nice, not having to worry of accidently selling/de like mentioned above is another win, and the glyph having bugs of work/not work would be address.
But if they can add a new option for weapon, then why not also add some more options to control the armor? Like we really get to customize the demons to our liking. The new options are great, but I’m sure we players could get even better mogs with more options.
You can’t be serious
Is this really our representative in the community council
So you’re saying that you want Blizzard to develop an new inventory system for pets that ultimately doesn’t change what weapons your felguard can visually use?
Also there is more than one warlock in the community council.
I mean they can always make a seperate coding line for the transmog options for the felguards weapon and link that glyph coded portion into the transmog system.
It shouldn’t be difficult, should take at least a month or so to do it in a separate test server section in their sorfware away from the ptr and then test it to see how it implements/conflicts with any of the other system. That is something that someone lesser skilled should be able to do with some guidance.
Granted that’s probably bringing over assets for each different weapon looks. But not impossible. Though I’d be more about the actual choices they would go with. Which won’t be to everyone’s liking where as now you can just go and collect a weapon you like and keep it in your bag
Yes
It’s called QoL
And if you want to play semantics, there are numerous two handers that are only available via transmog, especially from the Trading Posts. This would also solve this problem of the felguard not being able to use those visuals since you can’t put them in your bag.
I never said I’m against QoL. There are also some other solutions in here as well that I said felt easier. Maybe read some before jumping in and making assumptions? Or if you did read that and still jumped in with that, I have no idea what to tell you.
Also just because something would be a QoL change, doesn’t mean that it’s automatically worth it given how much development time would be required to implement. There are lots of potential minor QoL things that would be nice but aren’t realistic because of how much effort would be involved.
A couple of things in regards to this:
- The part about cosmetic items not working because they don’t leave an item in your bag was addressed already. I even agreed that that was a problem.
- If you want to play semantics, the inventory system suggestion wouldn’t fix what you claim it would in this scenario. If an appearance is purely a cosmetic transmog, it wouldn’t leave an item for you to slot into your pet’s inventory would it? However the other suggestion about putting some weapon appearances into the barbershop would. You are confusing the two suggestions.
That’s a fair point. Rather than develop a new system from the ground up, they might be able to use some of the existing functionality from the glyph and creating a way to access it from the barber shop. As far as how many appearances they bring over and which ones, yeah that would be an important factor as well.
