Transmog "too restrictive"?

What I mean is, should the restriction be lifted a little bit? My hunter would look so good with some of the leather pieces.

Do you think the restrictions should be loosened a little bit? Or are you happy with the current restrictions and they should just make more variety with their armors?

I personally wish they would go all out, get rid of all restrictions. Let people mog whatever weapons they want, allow cloth classes to unlock plate appearances from items, change it to ā€˜mog the slot, not the item’. Maybe, just maybe keep the class tier sets unique to the class, but that’s about it. I’m still just glad transmog exists, but it could be so much better.

Yeah, you could make some cool sets with no restrictions, but that would never happen

Some leather pieces look like cloth. Some cloth looks like plate.

If they loosened the restrictions though they would need to let you collect transmog regardless of whether or not you could actually wear it.

I wish at the very least they would allow us to transmog weapons regardless of what type we had equipped. I never want to look at a staff hovering two inches from my back ever again.

Given that heritage armor exists they should definitely lift some restrictions. The ā€œbut you won’t be able to visually code enemy charactersā€ doesn’t hold up when Nightborne warriors are clearly wearing caster robes, and you can turn off all slots except for pants anyways.

I’m pretty happy with tmog going into SL.

I think I see what class someone is because of what weapons they use rather than armor.

I see what class someone is because when I hover over them with my mouse it tells me. From a distance you sort of have a point but even that falls apart when the arms warrior wielding a staff charges you.

That is true xd

I’m pretty happy with the restrictions. I really don’t want to see a Rogue stealthing around in a full plate set. I think that really would ā€œruin meh emerzion!ā€

Would you be okay with a limited amount of pieces from a different armor type? like 1-2?

I am happy with the updated transmog from SL prepatch release. I think we should get more items transmoggable like new vendors just for that for my males and females looking really good.

If nothing else, they should loosen the rules on helmets. It’s kind of silly that, say, only Mail gets to wear a crimson hat while only Leather gets to wear a purple hat, or that you have to wear Cloth to use most of the original Engineering Goggles appearances.

Ideally, all hats, hoods, masks, goggles, headbands, crowns, and tiaras should be unrestricted, as well as anything that’s clearly made of an ā€œoutsideā€ material, like the ZA/ZG sets being made mostly out of wood.

I just want more of the holiday and anniversary stuff unrestricted. Some of it makes no sense. Sunglasses that I can only wear in November?

Blizzards design philosophy in regard to this has not aged well, and their excuse of breaking immersion is pretty null at this point with there being a yeti onesie

Yeah I think certain ā€œhatsā€ should be labeled cosmetic so any class can wear them. Goggles and hoods come to mind.

Yeah that’s super dumb. They need to stop with the ā€œok you can wear flower crowns year around but not glasses!ā€

Yeah, they really make too many restrictions

Hopefully you don’t run into a Dark Iron or Mag’har rogue wearing heritage armor then.
