Transmog "The Real End Game"

I couldn’t agree more Ian and you know what I would love, let us earn old 2k rating pvp transmog

My idea since the current requirement is 1800, games over that benchmark give you chance of earning Mark of Conquest and we use that to buy the sets. That way it still requires a certain rating to obtain them.

My reason for this Cata came out in 2010, so if someone was born in the year 2000 they would have been 10 when it released. Surely we can let people earn that transmog. I don’t know starting from there every time an expansion releases we just add expansion to the list.

Exclusivity should have an expiration date.

Edit: I want to reclarify my point. There should be a way to earn something that was only available 15 years ago. My suggestion was just be over a certain rating and you have to win those games. If someone has a better idea i’m for it.

Update: Someone mentioned you only get to earn the appearances on that class that you are currently 2k+ on as well. I see that is also fine, but a way to earn them should exist.

How do you figure?

If you didn’t get 2k in that season to get the skin, you shouldn’t get it now. This handout culture stuff needs to stop.

i agree with the main post. 2k 13 seasons ago isnt a flex. Nor is 2k now. I think you should be able to get the skin, and only be able to use it if you got 2k in a current or past season. Old FOMO is just lame. We need to start resettting “CLEAR” boundaries as developers or expect players to lose interest in subbing/playing the game. We undo some FOMO but not others. lets allow “new” players to earn rewards despite them missing out 10-20 years ago… New players are the lifeblood of this 20+ year old game. there are a 1/10 of the guilds progressing mythic content now compared to LEGION. Lets face the facts and be realistic…

Would be nice if I get the Elite Plate Ensemble from SL Season 2. I earned it as a Clothie instead. :frowning:

Really don’t understand people who are so attached to artificial exclusivity in a video game.

All it does just add more indifference.

For the PvP elite sets?

I think after 10 years, if they earn 100 victories when over the current season’s “Elite” rating, (having earned the current season’s achievement gear mog) – That they should be granted a token after said-additional victories, to purchase one of the 10+ year old sets.

  • Similar to the Vicious Saddle.

So that way, it’s still prestigious — demanding and requiring of significant effort.
Not to mention probably a boost to the PvP community too, inspiring more people to dabble such content

You people don’t know the difference between not wanting handouts, and gatekeeping.

If it was buyable with marks of HONOR then sure, that’s a handout.

Make it earn-able through serious effort: no longer a handout.

Its a no brainer to do something like this. But pvp ppl are weird and seem opposed to it because idk it hurts their feelings towards their own stuff or something

Either that or just change the paradigm going forward to something better. Current pvp reward structure is meh.

I know you’re claiming to know the difference, but I don’t think you do.

They were rewards from seasons past, why do you believe you deserve something that wasn’t earned in that time frame?

I mean, as you can see — I’m currently using the PvP elite FOMO set myself for priests, right now …
And I’d be fine with them doing this — Because I know it would require tremendous effort.

  • Not to mention it’d vastly benefit the PvP community by bringing in more players and by that standard – Hopefully more attention from Blizzard too, towards that of them bringing in new battlegrounds, arenas and interesting PvP ideas.

So I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily “PvP ppl” that are weird and opposed to it.
Many, to your surprise – would likely be all for it  So long as they put in the work – and EARN that glory :fist:

Basically any pvp reward could get the saddle treatment or something similar. Barely anyone remembers if a particular spec was strong or not years ago, and even fewer should care. It took skill to get that thing back in the day, and whatever hoop is associated with it now should also take some skill. The intricate specifics of whether it’s “easier” now or harder are irrelevant.

My go-to has always been reaching a particular milestone on that class for consecutive seasons in a row. That’s worthy of a lil something extra.

Yeah, which is why I said as long as it requires tremendous effort of a similar ordeal of the original, to achieve it — or that of even further hard work.

Hence my later statement

I would be surprised When ive brought up similar ideas in the past its usually met with no

They bring up some 10 year old survey where the ppl then said they didnt want things brought back. So to them, even if you put some current grind to it, its not the same because the game is different so it shouldnt be earnable or some nonsense

Only change id make your idea is the 10 year gap. Make it seasonal where you can buy an old set if you wanted to grind it out. One per season or something. Idk

Yes, well the usual argument against this is some goober coming in and declaring something like, “Well <class> is so easy now it would be unfair to give them the reward from season 12 when that class was terrible!”

Preemptively cutting that off at the knees because normal people don’t care. They just say “oh a glad mount, that’s a good pvper.”

The class could had been the easiest faceroll on the planet back @ the time of the reward – compared to now where said-class is now insanely difficult, and they’d STILL be saying that sadly. :pensive:

 But as I originally recommended:

Such would be a compromise that not only rewards new and current players — but also benefits those of the PvP community, to have a richer playerbase and with enough attention perhaps further content & rewards provided to them overtime.

How could a 10 year old have experienced the fear of missing out on something they didn’t know existed?

Go get 2k rating and then tell me it’s a “handout” bub.

Weak reading comprehension, I don’t think you should get past season’s rewards for current achievement. Get it during the season or don’t get it at all, so yea… it’s a handout. Also already got that rating, should get it again this season when I start up. :person_shrugging:

No, I comprehended what you were saying just fine. But you’re engaging in bad faith and being disingenuous and that isn’t on me.

But I see you have no interest in a sincere or constructive discussion so I’ll leave you to your miserly business.

Oh, so it’s bad faith and disingenuous because you don’t agree? Am I shocked? Nope. Most people who are trolling don’t have any valid points to bring to an argument.

I guess I’d be as upset as you if I was still hard stuck challenger. :person_shrugging:
