When can we have the ability to transmog armor slots rather than the gear itself? This way when we get a new piece it’s just automatically transmogged?

This would absolutely ruin stuff for RP servers. Want to take off your hat? Pull out your mammoth in the middle of the gathering and spend gold. Want to put it back on? Do the same thing again. Nothing says ‘breaking immersion’ like having to constantly make yaks appear out of nowhere.
I never thought of it this way, but you have a good point. I don’t change my clothes on the go during RP usually because I almost never wear face obscuring helmets and the like, but I can see how some might.
I do wish transmog were cheaper though and originally thought OP’s suggestion would help a bit, at least while leveling and gearing up seasonally. Peatri is always poor because FASHION!
Then make a toggle in game. Best of both worlds. Put a check box in the xmog window that allows you to choose to transmog by slot. If unchecked, it behaves as it does now. Check the box to xmog the slots
