Where was it mentioned that it was intended from the start?
As an RPer, I understand the importance of Transmog, however I donât think people are subbing to Retail for the sole purpose of TransmogâŚ
No. This is a non-point when there are obscene gold-sink mounts in the game that are 6-7 digits deep worth of gold. An item selling for a lot more in a massively inflated economy means nothing.
Transmog is one of the most damaging things to this entire game. The look of your character should be a representation of your achievements. This also extends to mounts, titles, etc. Back in the day if you saw someone with Amani Warbear / T6 / Warglaives you could tell a lot about that player. You knew they worked hard to get into a good guild and you could tell they were well respected enough in that guild to be given the best gear.
Now in retail, everybody looks cool, everybody has 100s of cool mounts, and everyone has 100s of different titles. And you know what? None of it means anything.
When everybody looks cool, nobody looks cool. People donât want the expensive cars because they look nice. People want the expensive cars because of the status it represents. Asking for Transmog just shows that YOU ARE the reason this game is terrible now.
I honestly hate transmog. Itâs one of the single worst additions to the game.
Sorry you canât play dress up.
Itâs an RPG, you are collecting gear from your adventures doing different things, it isnât meant to match. Part of tier sets matching end game was how it looked so solid, and it makes sense because they come from the same type of engagement to achieve them.
To this day, none of my retail characters have a single transmog because it truly deteriorates the feel of the game, being an adventurer collecting gear haphazardly, and being able to assess other characterâs strength at a glance.
Iâd be okay with so many other retail changes, but transmog is the end for me.
No thanks. I donât want some farmer looking dude with a rusted shovel and dirty cloth MS critting me for 3k.
Itâs funny in retail but the idea of that in classic is sickening
You can still wear it while AFK in cities if you want to advertise having no life during Classic.
The day transmogs were announced, items for slutmogsâ values went up 10 fold by the next day.
And those are one example.
Yeah⌠then I turn into a Cat and none of that matters.
And then when I turn back into my Humanoid form⌠I have a hodgepodge of generic looking gear because I canât actually wear my âachievementâ fun gear and have it work with my spec and role in raids.
Later, and by later I mean a single expansion later in TBC, the gear looks the same as any other Druid, and anyone who can get a few wins a week in Arena. Oh and Iâm still a clown suit until late-Cata mixing and matching Druid themed items with Rogue themed items.
Thatâs nice. Not every class or spec gets to âlook coolâ by happenstance of wearing all the tier gear and complementary off-set items.
Shush.
So items that were basically coppers in value and jumped up to silvers in valueâŚ
You are whatâs wrong with this game. Just because you donât like what your classes gear looks like doesnât mean the entire integrity of the game should be diminished because of it.
You didnât even read carefully. Point out where I said my class gear was bad.
This is literally what you saidâŚ
Try reading again.
Iâm done with this conversation. Youâre obviously not a very intelligent person. Goodbye.
Uhh⌠from what I read, he doesnât wear the class gear because right now itâs for healing. And even when he does wear some tier, itâs usually not all tier (and itâs usually at most 4 pieces), and pretty much every non-healing leather piece that isnât tier is based on rogue tier. In raids anyway.
Transmog is the last thing TBC needs. It wonât be there. Period. Bookmark this post if youâd like.
Glad someone gets it easily.
An item that was worth 3-5g on the AH was now worth 30-50gâŚ
Your trying to say items that sold to a vendor for 10-30s were selling on the AH for far less than their vendor value nowâŚ
Iâve never agreed with anything in this forum more than this.
