Yes, im talking about about removing class /armor type restrictions.
Let the mage dress up as a warrior, let the warrior use a wand as if it was a sword if he want to, let people create their characters anyway they want.
it just dont make sense anymore.
I see why the rules where set as a way to mantain the game immersion in the past, the gear used to say a lot about your character: It reflected the core magic of the class, the role it used to play in the group, the armor type, it used to show so much.
I used to defend those restrictions, but seeing a mage covered in plate, a warrior tanking in Wendigo pyjamas or a Dk dressing up as Indiana Jones breaks any immersion. I dont believe Blizz wil remove those itens or will stop selling this kind of stuff in the future. I already accepted that immersion when it comes to gear appearence is gone.
I Believe that all the restrictions should be removed, not keept as a privilege for people who are willing to pay (even more) for the game.
Make it like this: Once you have the item at your bag it will go to your collection and you can use the appereance in any character, to have fun doing whatever you want.
I like the present way. I can easily look at the toons armor and figure out their class. Let’s not confuse the issue any more, there are enough armor choices in each class to create a kool look. Geez even AH offers you a dressing room to try out different looks.
…and we see how amazingly that worked out for them haha xD
Everyone basically just wanted tier set bonuses, nice looking tier sets, and one more talent row, but nope systems - upon systems - upon systems that require tons of bug fixes and are barely ready to go even mid way into an expansion, and in BfA’s case then end too xD
My only gripe with transmog sets in the store is that it breaks the immersion of armor classes. I really don’t like the fact that a war, priest, and hunter could all be mogging the exact same armor, just doesn’t make sense.
That being said I’m glad that it’s only about 4 armor sets right now and you have to actually pay money to get them. If they remove the transmog restrictions everyone will look ridiculous.
Hoping that they don’t put any more armor sets in the store but I know they will anyway.
That right there. Class sets should still be limited by class but anything else should be fair game. Heritage armor creates a ton of crossover anyways.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but we have tool tips, spell visuals (a shammies meat ball is pretty obvious), mobility spells (heroic leap and monk roll are pretty obvious to me as well), and I’m sure with time, there’d be add-ons developed that make differentiating even easier, but I don’t think they’re necessary. The visuals may make it slightly easier, but there’s many other ways to identify a class.
