I am simply advocating to be able to transmog cloth armor into cloth armor while wearing cloth armor on my ROGUE.

Before posting - because people aren’t reading even this short post, this has nothing to do with changing armor classes.
If this is for RP, just put on the cloth item. Nobody will care.
And the reason is this game still has armor class. But! The good news is there are several cloth-like items for $25 on the shop.

I could very well farm out all the cloth items (For a second time?) just to wear them on my rogue, but there’s zero point and its quite ridiculous frankly. If I can wear them ultimately, I should be able to transmog some cheap cloth greens into those rarer drops that I can ultimately equip as well.
The main QoL change i’d like to see with transmog is mog staying on the gear slot instead of the piece of gear, we shouldn’t need to “fix” our mog every time we get a new piece of gear.
That too would be nice. I came back to WoW after a year and expected Transmog to be way better than it is right now.

Yes. I’ve been begging for SWTOR’s transmog system for years. Well, not the exact system but transmog slot not gear and saving 20 different looks you can change on the fly.

I don’t think it’s interesting for A-type classes to use B-type armor - even if only for xmog.
Now, if the objective is: I’m in an old raid, I dropped an armor that fits my other character… I should be able to send it to him, if that’s your idea then I agree.
I don’t understand this thing about “keeping” armor with the character, this rule has always been weird to me.
Armor dropped in raid should be account bind.
I understand that it could be a security measure, so no one can enter a hacked account and transfer all the items… or it serves the purpose of making the player keep coming back in the raid, to have “what to do” in the game. …but it’s still a ridiculous rule.
but I will never agree that a cloth user can use leather, if that was the idea you wanted to explain. Just like I don’t agree with plate users, being able to wear mail.

Well, with how mad you’re getting over a simple misunderstanding on my part, I kind of do want to troll you now.
It’s frustration, because people are literally not reading a couple sentences of the original post and then going on to write paragraphs about something completely different.

Frankly transmog and armor type as it exists doesn’t really make much sense, they may not LIKE a plate user mogging and using mail, or a Hunter/Shaman or Drac’thyr using leather, etc… but that’s how the game was for a while, and even our class NPCs demonstrate this… the Hunter trainers and NPCs are not wearing mail, they’re wearing leather. The Paladin ones are wearing mail, the leather classes’ NPCs wear cloth etc…
Beyond this, it makes sense for fighters in general to wear more than one type of armor, nobody wore a full set of plate into combat… it was usually mixed with mail and or cloth armor in the mix. Their transmog rules simply don’t make sense from a lore and fantasy perspective.
We had this feature up until about the end of WoD, it’d simply be a matter of reverting the system if they kept the code and extending it somehow past lvl 40.
They should have restricted transmog to whatever armor types you can wear and then only allowing said armor type to be transmogged into the SAME armor type of said piece.
It’s weird to only allow you to transmog plate into plate as a warrior and not some leather to leather (especially as a roleplayer)
yes. this does need to be a thing.
they could keep needing the correct class armor type to learn the item. and even keep armor to armor xmog separate. but a Cloth leather or Mail item should be able to get xmog’d to other items in the collection for Fashion reasons.
It’s a huge issue in the Roleplaying community. Where people have to go out and farm items they already have collections for, can wear, but can’t transmog because the system won’t allow them to transmog that cloth shoulder to cloth shoulder JUST BECAUSE.
So weird.
