Transmog issue..Plate wearer buying Cloth but no new appearence?

So rolled a Warlock recently and working him up to 120. In the meantime the gear look sucks so I went through and looked at the different sets.

Figured some of the WoD sets have some appeal so I logged onto this guy went over to Draenor to buy the cloth set.

ok not on my list…let me change the little drop down to All. Ok I see all the Cloth pieces and I buy one…but wait no message saying it has been added to my appearance ward drobe…

Please tell me this is a bug and not some utterly pointless grind added into the game to just aggravate people. What is the point in allowing people to buy a Cloth piece if it is not going to get added to your wardrobe?

Also before anyone chimes in Wardrobes are shared across characters so I can buy a plate set on my Horde Pally and my Alliance Pally can wear their version of it. For some reason if I buy a cloth piece it is not added to my wardrobe slot.

One simple solution is if I buy the plate set then when I log to my Warlock the Cloth set would be unlocked. This complaint is only specific to very old prior expansion content.

It ain’t a bug :frowning: you have to be a cloth wearer for the cloth transmog appearance to be added. Since your other guys is a plate wearer you can only add plate appearance.

Nope. You only unlock an appearance for xmog if the the said item is a piece usable for that character who obtained it.

So no bow xmog unlocks if your warlock gets them.

So why can I even buy the cloth piece? It clearly allows you to pick pieces other then your current character role. It defaults you to Paladin for example but on the dropdown you can pick All

Oh honey…

So that you can see what’s available for your alts if you want without switching characters.
