Transmog is too expensive. Not all of us made fortunes during WoD or during any of the get-rich-quick schemes

Posting a thread on the forums - Priceless.

Shout out to my transmog roulette homies!

Literally just play the game, it dumps gold on you; like if Smaug just decided to climb out of his lair and go for a walk.

Just buy wow token. I know the nerds are going to crucify me for saying that. “REEEEEEE!” lol.

If you farm real life money there is no reason to re-farm that in-game for hours. $20 buys you days or weeks of farming. It could be worse. I’ve seen some gotcha games that have no shame in convincing people to spend thousands.

There used to not be a craft bag at all, but after the switch to B2P, ESO needed an optional sub to have incentive

Playing without a subscription is basically like playing it as a Demo. I’d never recommend seriously playing without it.

Problem is that the vast majority of mounts are in the crown store - rather than something you earn in gameplay

Besides that;

  • paid slots for the outfit station
  • paid slots for the armory station (creating & saving multiple builds on a single character)
  • costs money to change character appearance post creation
  • making latest added skill lines a slog to level while conveniently adding a paid skip button (if you already leveled it on a character previously)

But the Crown Crates is the most offensive, no B2P game with an optional subscription should have loot boxes. Especially ones that have such a low drop rate on cool stuff.

Which is why WoW mandatory subscription is nice. Because the game isn’t trying to nickel and dime you on every aspect of the game.

Pay $15 and you get access to the whole game, including awesome looking mounts, and not riddled with micro transactions.

I don’t think enough people appreciate just how little this game can cost in comparison to many other MMO‘s

Especially for the amount of content you get

Exactly. Not just other MMO’s but other hobbies/entertainment in general.

The base ore is still 50g a pop for t1

If i do a full mog it cost multiple 1000s i hate the cost of transmog

If ever there was a time to get rich quick schemes, now is the Time!

Do you not quest, raid, dungeons or wqs? How often do you mog your toon?

I didn’t have a lot of gold before this xpac, but I remember my fresh 70 in s4 of DF started with 5k and ended up with 60k by the end. Most I did was run keys. I bought gear enchants, flasks, food, etc. throughout the season
 so I’m a bit confused.

Best way to make gold rn is herbs/ore. I’ve made 300k by just flying around the zones while I’m doing WQs.

One world quest is like 700g

I mog everytime my armor or weapon get exchanged for a new piece so i dont look awkward, like how my toon is now since i got kicked a few days ago and havent been able to mog yet.

I like my toons to look a certain way and if they dont it bothers me i dont care if its just the wrong boots. The only exception is 99% of bracers since they are hidden most the time under gloves

I mog my toon every time as well. Even when I lvl. Granted my main was at 520 going into TWW so I didn’t have to mog as much.

I am lvling a remix toon rn, started with about 2K, but I’ve made a bit over 2K just running dungeons. I still mog the guy. However, his mog costs only a few gold at 467 ilvl.

Mine is around 600 every time I change my mind. Which is a lot, I play a druid.

Would very much like a reduction in costs. This is not something that should be costing THAT MUCH. There’s no reason. (yes i know, its a money sink but its still unfun)

They say the price is based on the ilvl of the armor being mogged and depending on the item you wanna mog if its a legendary it cost more and something like legion weapons being free if you use artifact and not the one in the weapon type selection.

So upgraded armor plus fancy mogs cost more

There are different types of gold sinks to keep things in check. A one time purchase doesn’t last long to keep things down and doesn’t address the entire game’s population.

Constant mini gold sinks need to exist. If you remove the transmog one, you need to come up with another constant mini gold sink that works similarly elsewhere.

SWTOR has a bottomless reagent tab. It’s just part of your inventory space, aka bags. But it’s server wide, so you can access it from your inventory on any character just by switching over to that tab. Mats automatically deposit there. Doesn’t cost anything extra. And it’s severely lacking from our Warband.

But seriously it could be cut a bit. 1 gold world quest serves the first initial mog and just existing serves the rest. I wait until new pieces are few and far between before I settle on doing it.

This. If FO76 can do it, Blizz can too.

Not ragging on FO76, I love it. But it doesn’t make anywhere near the money that ESO/WoW/etc make.

Tokens are the answer here. Or do world quests. Or change into “work clothes” when you’re working.
