I think firstly to all the “no changes” people I’m asking if you could maybe just keep an open mind as you go through all this, I understand that this a game you truly love, but I love this game too and I am really just trying to get traction on a system that would only make me love the game more Secondly to respond to all the comments that are saying they don’t want to see naked people in the game, I totally understand the point, but I’m not asking for a complete implementation of the current transmog system I think bits and pieces of it are actually really good though. As of now in classic there is an option to hide your head or cloak and I think the same option should be applied to a transmog system that could be placed in the release of classic TBC, but you shouldn’t be able to hide other pieces such as chest, or gauntlets, or boots to keep the concept of realism in the game that wow classic players love and, I love. Also only being able to transmog pieces your character could realistically wear such as only mail and plate for warriors, and only cloth and leather for druids of course this would only apply to a different series of greys, greens, and maybe blues because of course once warriors level they wear plate and druids only leather. And of course tier sets should only be transmogable to the classes it was designed to be worn by, all of these things are for the sake of keeping the realistic feel of classic but further adding the concept of customization making your character feel more like your character. The last thing is the argument for “you can’t tell what gear people with transmog have” then honestly I would be completely fine with seeing a transmog system only visible by you, to elaborate you would be the only one able to see your characters transmog and everyone else around you would see the gear as it would appear without the implementation of transmog. I think this should really be considered, honestly sometimes the only thing keeping me from continuing to level my warrior in classic is the fact that I know once I get him to 60 I won’t really be super happy with the way he looks idk it’s a small thing but something I feel is super important.
I like the idea really. It would give people that like creating looks another reason to go out into the world and experience the content that they might otherwise not.
I also like the idea of the toggle switch so people that wish to use the feature can and those that don’t are not bothered by those that do.
I think cringe retail sht belongs in cringey retail. You should go play that if you want to play dress-up.
you raid naked?
Gah. Paragraphs.
Isn’t that the beauty of a forum though where people can offer ideas and Blizz can see things that people are interested in.
Myself, I like the idea of transmog and would love to see it on Classic as an option for people to use it if they so choose. I even like the idea of the toggle switch so people don’t have to see the transmogs if they don’t. I think that’s my general outlook on a lot of things. I’m generally okay with features that can be toggled on / off.
I also was thinking about the concept of, “go play on retail if you like dress up.” I can’t play retail because I don’t care for how retail is going. That is why I play classic, because I like classic. I’m not opposed to seeing features that I like added to a game that I like though.
No , just no . It will never happen , so this entire discussion is pointless anyway .
One of the great things about Vanilla - Wotlk is the fact that you can visually see what gear people are wearing , and if you have a rare piece of gear that’s really good you can actually flaunt it .
Its also really satisfying to see the gear upgrades that you get on yourself in my opinion .
120 retail character
asking for fundamental changes to a game they don’t play
Shoo
It doesn’t matter if it will happen or not, all that matters is that it’s an idea that people can discuss and go back and forth.
Depending on how Blizz were to go about handling adding transmog on Classic people would still be able to see what gear people were wearing without any difficulty.
As I said above if Blizz added it and had the option to toggle see / don’t see transmogs. People that want to see what people are actually wearing could just not turn see transmogs on or turn off see transmogs. Kind of a very simple solution to the argument from either side really.
I agree that it is great to see the upgrades you are wearing if that is your thing. I also think that being able to make those upgrades look in a manner that you as a player find more visually appealing is a great thing as well.
Be a real wow player. Wear that leveling clown suit with honor.
Transmog is a garbage idea and youre garbage for proposing it. Keep that trash in retail.
But your not even crafting a response to a proposed idea and system of having it be something that only your character, your just instead rejecting the idea all together, your argument holds no value at all if the system proposed were to actually get implemented. Could you maybe elaborate on the idea of why “realistic” transmoging, not like naked transmoging would harm the game if it were only to be viewed by the actual person who was playing that character and you choose wether or not to do this.
I am not a no-changes guy, and I dont want transmog in TBC, it just does not belong there, and TBC has really good looking sets that are easy to get. Ill give ya that Vanilla sets in a lot of cases look better, but really the TBC armor is really good looking in most cases excluding my rogue T4, thats really bad.
Even if it’s only something you as the player would be able to see?
There is an addon that does that its called Tmorph, everyone use to use it, look it up, you can even change what race you are using with that thing.
Pulled this from a reddit site on the addon.
“Blizzard recently did a ban wave for client modification. They reverted most of them because they werecosmetic model changes, but they stated they will not overlook this in the future and will no longer overturn bans for this. Warden can detect it, as far as I understand, and you now have an actual risk of getting banned for it.”
So unfortunately tmorph as you say is not a viable option simply wave a solution.
My eyes
Tmog is a good system but loot is to rare in classic/tbc to have people take items for the looks only. Leave it to the expansion it came out in which is cata.
Well that is a shame, it was a harmless program. Gear Id is important in classic, and TBC pvp.
As I stated it has make sense to the core aspects of Vanilla. No body wants retail.
As i stated to you in other forums it has to fit classic not u make it fit. Be creative. I gave you examples earlier.
Yes but I really want to believe we can get a realistic version of this system added in a release of classic TBC it’s so small. I would really like to see it happen.
