And because of that we don’t need more like them.
I would argue this is proof that we can have more like them. I see a priest in the dark iron heritage armor and I still know it’s a priest. That means that class identity isn’t tied just to what armor they’re wearing.
Yes, you can identify that the toon it’s a priest, if you see the color of his name plate, also you can imagine that he is some kind of spell caster if he is using and staff, but no one of this issues are my point.
The thing it’s that when you are interacting with other players, you want that their characters looks like the class they are, not because you want to know what they are for whatever reason. It’s because you want a correlacion between what you see and what they make or actually are. I wouldn’t like that in the midle of a BG a tauren fury warrior appear wearing a cloth set, like Dalaran’s mage wear, while he is spaming melee abilities.
…you don’t speak for me.
okay NOW you’re doing it right.
I speak for all the people that think like me. Don’t be so sensitive.
Hmmm… is that so?
Honestly, we need less of that mentality. Not surprised “no fun” is coming from a PVPer, though.
Except there are already plate mogs that look like dresses. And there are already cloth mogs that look like plate. All this does is restrict the people that want to make legitimate mogs.
100% this
Let all armor types mog all armor types.
Remove the spec restriction on artifacts. There’s a GORGEOUS fiery staff for frost mages, but when I go fire, I suddenly can’t wield that fiery staff.
Edit: Holiday stuff restricted to holidays usually just means I never bother with them at all. If I want to fight Jaina in a spring robe with bunny ears in September… who cares?
I don’t think I’ve paid a single, slight bit of attention to how my PvP opponents look in actual years. It’s not like I can call them out with the information or anything, and frankly half the cloth looks like plate anyway.
And there’s a ton of plate dresses, among other things …
I’ve got more important things to worry about though, like not dying. I really couldn’t care less if the person trying to kill me were dressed like the tooth fairy on steroids.
Can we get some way to complete the old sets that are missing pieces. The trial of style would be good
Remove the restriction that will not allow for Staffs & Pole Arms to be transmogged over each other. Historically speaking the words were interchangeable for the same weapons type. Also a vote for removing the spec specific restrictions as well.
And as i said before, we don’t need more of that.
I believe that would get bundled into standardization of 1 and 2 handed mogs.
Why not? Why are you concerned about how someone else mogs their character? You’re not playing that character. Furthermore, if you’re raiding or PvPing, you should be paying attention to mechanics, not transmogs. If you’re in a city idling, and get angry that Paladinjoe is mogged into a dress, you can always go where he isn’t… though anyone getting mad that others like what they don’t is pretty silly.
I have no problem about seeing to Jon the Paladin in a pink ballarina dress while he mounts a giant chicken, once. But i don’t want to see a bunch of toons dressing in a way that not match with the game atmosphere. WoW is a game that was think and designed to recreate an special fantasy universe, with special features. For several players that are one of the key factors why we play WoW. Allowing to transform any type of armor with any other type of armor, will destroy that. Most armors were designed to fit with the concept of the class or classes that were going to use it.
Armors, buildings, landscape, mounts, and so on, are key factors in the visuals and the lore of WoW. Will be not good lost that things, at least for me an another persons.
But you are not all the time immersed in that, the rest of the time you are watching this virtual world and all that are there. Aesthetics are an important part of any game, especially in a MMO. Even in games like shooters o mobas where the lore it’s not that important, they care at some point for aesthetics and recreate an specif atmosphere.
EDIT: Anyway. This is a Thread pro Transmog, considering that the word “mega” it’s in the title. And all the megathread have the purpose, or at least the wish, of “make things happens”.
All of you have all the freedom for that, and i’m not interested in change the mind of anybody. I just saw the tittle and i wanted to get in to leave mi opinion about this.
Also, i agree with some ideas that i read here, but allow mog any type of armor with any other type of amor it’s just a bad idea in my opion.
Anyway, as always Blizz will have the final word. Good day/night to everyone.
Please, option to Hide Staffs for casters, I hate carrying one around knowing I will just be keeping it on my back whenever I cast spells.
I would rather them just give caster weapon based spell animations like in the bloody BC trailer where the Blood Elf Priestess cast the heal by slamming her staff on the ground. But that’s an entirely different topic.
I’d feel a whole lot more immersed if people weren’t arbitrarily limited and could make some cool, lore-appropriate transmogs. Y’know, like all the NPCs wear.
