Transmog for all classes with same armor type

Hey guys. I have been thinking about that for a long time. I also searched about that and find some old posts, but not complaining about something Ill do here.

So, before I go to the main point, I want to say that Idk if a Plate class should be able to mog into Leather, Cloth or Mail armor, because this make sense and doesnt make sense too. Why? Simple, a paladin can mog into a “bikini plate mog”, but cant mog into a mail set that looks more like a plate set then the “bikini” one. Or because any of the armor types can mog into the new plunderstorm mog but can mog between them. But, I can also understand blizzard doesnt want to do that, because it would feel a bit strange and I dont feel mad at that.

In other hands, the main point I want to talk about, is something with no sense… Each class has its own tier set, so, a paladin use PLATE like warrior, but cant mog into a PLATE armor if this armor belongs to a warrior tier set piece. I know that this is to respect some of the lore of each class, but this doesnt make any sense when comes to this:

Paladin tier set shoulder from legion: https://www.wowhead.com/item=147162/radiant-lightbringer-shoulderguards

Plate shoulder that looks the same of the shoulder above: https://www.wowhead.com/item=147069/shoulderplates-of-crackling-flame?bonus=9093#same-model-as

Those shoulders, looks exactly the same, they are identical. But a warrior CANT mog the first one, but CAN mog the second one (doesnt matter the source, mythic, heroic, normal, raid finder, they always looks the same)

So, if someone wants to tell me there is no reasons for a DK transmog his shoulders into a “lightbringer paladin tier set” shoulders because they are… well, a DEATH knight, this thing here doesnt make any sense. They cant transmog into the tier set, but there is a piece that looks exactly the same, and its not just 1, there many of these.

So my idea is to make plate classes be able to mog any plate piece, doesnt matter if it belongs to a class tier set, and the same for leather, mail and cloth. Im sure, that many ppl would love to use warrior sets on a paladin or a paladin set on a warrior or DK etc.

All classes should be able to mog all armor types except class specific sets.

There’s literally no reason we shouldn’t be able to.

what u mean with that? u mean tier set? if thats what u mean, i cant agree, because like I said above, there pieces that arent tier set, but looks like a tier set… so my idea is: plate can mog any plate armor, doesnt matter if its tier set or anything else (same for all armor types).

This has been an ongoing request in here as it makes ZERO sense to keep the transmog restrictions in place given that there has always been crossover…plate that looks like literal cloth sets…and now we even have cosmetic sets that seem to have no restrictions at all.

I havent tested it yet, but are the racial heritage sets restricted so you cant us them if youre not wearing that one single armor type?
I might look at that later today to see.

If not, it just confirms the same thing…that we’d be able to use the set regardless of what armor type we’re sportin…so this ‘muh immerzion’ crap we hear from some has no meaning.
Not that it had meaning because no one in this game anywhere ever is stalking EVERY player around to make sure their mogs look like their armor type.
Which again, would have been an issue since classic given I have a set Im thinking of immediately that is plate, that looks exactly like cloth.

It evidently got deleted by imagur for some reason, but I had assembled some in game screen shots where I put together four mog sets…one of each armor type…and you could not tell which was which…they ALL looked exactly the same except for the color scheme…ALL looking like cloth, like something a farmer would wear.

All from the classic era…all looking like cloth, but being plate, mail, leather and cloth.

These restrictions at this point are beyond argument…absurd…to keep around other than class and racial mogsets…and maybe even those should be opened up after all this time.

literally you’ll get a few in here whining about ‘immersion’ but its like…this has BEEN a thing since classic.

So I just now this minute fired up the game and put one of my DI plate wearing death knights into ‘plate’ armor from their ‘plate’ mog collection
https://imgur.com/TfODR7k

Tell me that in ANY way looks even remotely like plate lol
Look at the age of most of that. Its like on the VERY early mog item pages…classic…cata at the latest for most of it.

so this has BEEN a thing since early in the games life.

No reason to keep the restrictions up now that we’ve crossed that line 1000 times since classic

Yes.

Why does that matter?

I played warrior and paladin, and I got many elites for both classes… I would like to use Warrior elites in my paladin and sometimes my paladin elites in my warrior.

Then let’s unrestrict it all.

The reason why this is a thing for me is because there are some very nice sets that are cloth or leather that would look far better on a hunter than MOST of the hunter sets.
Ive found less than half dozen sets that even come close to looking ‘hunter’ in the mail sets Ive aquired.

Since MY game IS mogging, Id like to have the mogs fit the character.

No mog restrictions would lead to such brutal soul crushing choice paralysis for me, especially sad with my hunter who I’ve made what I feel are some really cool armor sets with despite mail being hideously ugly from wrath to wod. I don’t think a single hunter or shaman would ever wear mail again.

You will have to cope with it for the betterment of everyone’s fashion style

Ive honestly got ONE mail set i use for hunters…the eagletalon set…LFR or normal…the really brownish colored one.
Currently ALL of my hunters are in that one set, lol.
My plate wearers all have different sets Ive farmed for them…as do my cloth wearers.
Mail, at least for hunter, feels way too limited in the styles they created for it.
Shaman is ok…I have a ton of sets that look good on a shaman character

It’s transmog. We have heritage armor, cosmetic sets, yeti onesie, etc. That ship sailed long ago.

Hey how’s it going? <3. I don’t think that matters here, as Blizzard thinks differently.
