In my opinion, the damage of 1h attacks/abilities in PvP should be increased so that it is comparable to 2h weapons for Frost DK’s in PvP.
I am not sure why (or if it is even intentional) that 1-handed damage is reduced so much in PvP. (This is taking into account both weapons hitting simultaneously for abilities).
If this is not possible, DK’s should at least be given the option to Transmog their 2h weapons into two 1h weapons (currently the only option for this is the Artifact weapon).

Its not that 1h does less damage, its the damage profile is distributed differently. 2h and DW output for ST is pretty even. 2h is preferable for PvP because your kill windows are during Obliteration and having obliterate hit harder is more likely to net you a kill. DW makes up for the 30% less dmg obliterates by having a 2nd rune wep enchant + more KM procs which leads to a more sustained damage profile. DW still hits with the OH for your abilities.

Having tested it extensively with timers and addons in PvP, the overall output and even sustained damage in PvP is significantly lower for 1h vs 2h. So yes, 1h does do less damage even with your abilities hitting with both weapons and having access to 2 runeforge enchants. It isn’t like 50% lower, it is more like 15-20%, but it is still significant enough that it either needs a damage buff in PvP specifically or a healing debuff.
Although, just having access to 1h Transmog’s while wielding a 2hander would possibly be a stop-gap solution to this imbalance.
It is possible that over a longer period of time and with 100% up-time on a target 1h (dual wield) would be equal-to or better than 2h, but this is just not realistic for PvP, which is why this issue is specific to 1h in PvP.
This is the case. Their output is equal, but because 2h works more in burst it is less hindered by losing uptime.
So their output is equal in PvE. My issue is that there is a clear difference between PvP and PvE, and due to this difference 1h (dual wield) is at a distinct disadvantage in PvP.
This is why I am just trying to advocate for either a buff to 1h (dual wield) in PvP specifically, or to just allow DK’s to Transmog their 2h weapons into any 1h-handers they wish.
I mean it’s the same output, the only difference is how much up time you have on your opponent. If you play double grip and keep them chained you will have the same overall damage. The difference is taking 100k damage over 30seconds vs taking 90k damage over 15seconds then 10k over the remaining 15sec. Those numbers are just made up but you get the idea.
What you should be asking for is a change in how they balance 2h vs DW in general with MotFW, not a buff to DW because that will put 2h at a disadvantage.
Or the tmog option would work too.
