Transmog display issues with Undead

Hello I’d like to bring this to attention. There is no possible way blizzard isn’t aware of it though.

Undead models of both genders are plagued with transmog issues since we had a visual update. A lot mog is floating off character, not attached to the body, clips through our frames and bodies.

While I do appreciate the work and effort that went into updating our models I would like to see the same effort put into changing armor to look correct on us. Plenty of models ingame you simply can’t wear because of how atrocious the floating and clipping is.

To give a few examples. The magisters helm model on undead female clips through our chest, when we idle animation you can see it bursting though.

Our Tier 5 helm on us looks like a cone you put over a dogs head and clips through our neck. Other models like the sunstrider regalia helm go nearly to our forehead!

Any member of your art team could sit down on a new undead character and go piece by piece and look at how awful the product looks.

WoW is a multi-billion game you certainly can hire a few folks to go through and take the time and fix this. I expect more from a company this large and a race in your video game shouldn’t have to expect this to be the finished product from here on out. If this what we should expect I’d be embarrassed to put my logo on it and call it quality work.

From where I sit it looks like model updates where done and zero thought went into how every item in the game would appear on them.

The models need to be scaled to size and look correct. Not floating off the body and clipping through them.

Many problems have arisen with the model updates that I wish would be addressed

shoulder fitting problems on undead and nightborne (and pandaren still)
spines showing up on undead capes unattached to their backs
hair on male blood elves being stiff and floating above their torso
frozen faces on male belf/velf when mounted
belt clipping into the torso on troll males and undead

How about the fact that my hair isn’t actually attached to my scalp? If you look closely there’s a gap with some solid piss color between my forhead and hair line.

It’s like my character is slowly becoming asmongold.

Also, the new cloak physics make any long cloak on an undead clip in and out of the ankles constantly during the idle animation.

Agreed. It shouldn’t take players clamoring about it for a company as wealthy as this implement the quality that we’ve come to expect.

How satisfied you are with your characters appearance in an MMO is one of the most important aspects about it. This should be a top priority from my perspective and Blizzard is certainly not a poor bankrupt company that can’t afford to hire anyone to do the work and make it look like a finished product.

I have been reporting these issues since WoD beta when the new models came out via many channels; the beta forums, the in game beta bug reports, the live forums, the live game bug reports, someone also tweeted Lore about the issue and I remember reading his response of they would “look into it”…years later not a thing has been touched.

Please, Blizzard, fix these issues. We look at our characters all the time, they are who we are in game, I’m not on an RP realm but I do consider my character who I am in game and I would like to look correct in my armor.

You insisted on completely taking away who our characters were when you took the old models away, at least make the new ones semi up to par with them.

I’ll add during the summer I made a post about this item

Its a unique staff. Only model of its kind in game and has a falling roses effect. A beautiful item. The issue with it?

Its positioned wrong and held wrong. On an undead female looking from behind the head of staff is nearly parallel with out head, right below it the shaft clips into our shoulder plate and going down rest of the shaft over 50% of it is jutting out the right side of our body quite far. It looks horrendous while the rest of the staffs ingame are centered and look correct.

This one is also held by our characters right below the head instead of in the middle which gives a more awkward look.

Were coming up on the end of the year and something as simple as this is still ignored.

On undead specifically the lion share of armor appearances on us are not scaled and look like an unfinished product. This is unacceptable no matter how you spin it

The fact you’ve been bringing this up long and been ignored is astounding to me.
Makes you feel like its a hopeless situation when a company refuses to communicate with the playerbase on stuff like this. People talk with their wallets at end of day, its not a reason to unsub but its disheartening to see the level of neglect we are seeing.

Fact of the matter is a decade ago this would have been fixed pronto. The amount of pride that went into the product really showed. These days it makes you feel like some sort of skeleton crew is working min wage to keep the lights on there and doing nothing further for the effort we are seeing and communication we get

Yeah, Forsaken have always had problems when it comes to gear
I wish Blizzard would give us the option to cover up some or all of the bones poking out, I mean the boneless model already exists on the Chinese version of WoW. I don’t think it would take that much time for them to put this option into the game.

Also, take my :blue_heart:

the above is one link I still had from the past when this was reported. there were others but for whatever reason, they now show up “404”.

Blizzard used to take pride in the details, ESPECIALLY the character. For each person individually, the game starts at the character. Of course there are players who this doesn’t affect in the slightest, but others like myself it does.

Please show some pride in your work and fix these issues on (not only) the undead models that have been ongoing for years since they were rolled out.

Forsaken always had some clipping with certain helmets (due to Forsaken’s posture with their heads being farther forward than other models), but the model updates introduced a number of additional graphical glitches.

On one hand I get how more advanced physics (like cloak movement, and hanging belts) are probably harder to avoid clipping with, but it still sucks (and I don’t really understand what’s up with the floating shoulders). The old models were obviously super dated but the new ones have this slightly “unfinished” look with these issues. Even a few of the faces/hair have some minor glitches that I was expecting to see fixed after the initial rollout, but are still around.

The bones thing is an artistic choice, so I think that’s a separate issue.

My durotar friend Varick I didn’t realize it was you! You know how much I care about transmog!

Yea I’m not sure what to make of the dead silence we are getting from blizzard either

I am not Varick, but I was a part of many of the threads that he was regarding this issue over the past few years. We were/are fighting for the same cause.

That staff is my favorite and I can confirm it has those issues on multiple character models. There are actually at least two staves with that model in game, but they are different colors. The ones I know of comes from the Worgen starting zone and the Andorhol quests.

The issues with how it sits on my characters causes me to not want to mog it, which is sad because it really is my favorite staff in the whole game.

100% this exactly. Thank you!

It so beautiful and I feel like it would take no effort at all for blizzard to fix something as simple as that. I posted months ago on it and were met with crickets and indifference. Its quite frustrating
