It’s not a perceived loss. Losing a racial is 100% a loss to be fair. I feel like anyone would be upset if their main race lost a racial feature.
But I spend so much in mog now a days it wouldn’t upset me if it were to disappear, the cost that is.

I’m trying to show you that the ‘this doesn’t affect you’ argument can be applied to almost anything, which makes it a pretty bad argument. Changing the status quo for the sake of it is almost never a good idea.
WoW token sucks, yea, but is not a good example for the point you’re trying to make.
The token is auctioned, which means that someone using it to buy gold doesn’t make the gold they buy appear out of thin air; someone on the other side is spending gold to receive a token they can redeem for game time. The net change to the amount of gold in the economy is usually zero.
Yeah, but there’s a reason why they replaced it with a transmog vendor over, say, a profession trainer, a barber, a banker, etc.
Why? Why should changing your outfit cost 1000’s of gold?
Do you have pay a closet fee for changing your shirt every time you go to your closet for a new shirt? This is ridiculous.
I’m sorry I’m sorry, I think it should be increased by 50%. Sorry, I made a typo.
But yes, I do have to pay thousands every time I want to change my outfit.

Okay.
Problem with that sink is that it only works if you have gold. If you don’t, it only becomes restrictive.
I would much rather they fix the bot problem before.
I think it’s because you’re paying a being to cast illusion magic on your armor that changes its appearance or (in the case of weapons) changes the way you swing your orc stabber. I’m in favor of a price decrease, but I think they’re attached to it as a gold sink.
I can see if you wanna rock a different outfit every day that would cost you 7k a week, but most people dont do that
They aren’t really trying to do a lot to control the economy or they’d remove the ability to add gold with the token.
The cost is why I don’t transmog. It’s insanely stupidly priced.
There are two times I bother: Trial of Style, when it’s free. And when the piece is SO ugly to me I cannot abide seeing it. Then I take the free cost ‘make it invisible’ route 90% of the time. More rarely, I’ll actually shell out the gold for a different piece.
Given how often one gets upgrades on gear, the cost simply isn’t worth it. If the transmog went with the slot and NOT the gear, I could live with the cost.
If transmog costs significantly more, I’ll just not bother with it. I only bother with it now since I don’t plan on changing my gear until I buy DF, and after that maybe at the end of the xpac if I’m still playing.
I don’t really mind the current transmog cost since I have thousands of gold lying around doing nothing ![]()
And even then you’d still want to swap here and there.
And where would you like that gold sink moved to?
How about they create items that are worth purchasing? How’s that so difficult to fathom for you people?
Why argue against something that could benefit you, even if you use transmog once per decade?
I think we’ve reached the bottom of the barrel with you, friend. Best of luck in whatever you’re going through. lol
Play a Druid and you’ll never have to worry about Transmog costs again. Or at least, only a handful of times a year.
Perhaps. ![]()
When people buy the token off the AH, it removes that gold. So it’s not really a net positive (depending on how they deal with price fluctuations).
Depending on the fluctuations, but it is another example of that being just not a big worry. Also things paying out more gold than ever. They don’t really have that much of an interest in controlling it. It seems to be pretty much lip service.
I use transmog all the time. All the time. Lots. Constantly.
It’s a gold sink. It either stays there or gets moved somewhere else. Thus why I asked where they wanted it moved to.
I’m not sure how that triggered your anger in this manner.
The cost of transmog would be fine if we could transmog slot, not item.
