Transmog cost needs to go

With the barber shop costs being removed I feel like transmog costs should follow.

I don’t see why we can go get plastic surgery for free but changing our clothes costs nearly 1000 gold.

And to make it up to void elves, change their racial to instead summon an Ethereal that offers transmog services.

Transmog being one of the game’s biggest gold sinks is intentional design. Why are you changing your mog so often that it’s becoming an issue?

Should go up by 10x at least tbh

This argument falls pretty flat with barbershop costs being removed.

Don’t void elves get free transmog?

Not really. The frequency of barber visits has never been anywhere near the frequency of transmog visits. People clamor over transmog so much to the point that they felt the need to put a Transmogrifier on the Grand Expedition Yak. I’m not seeing any barber mounts anywhere…

(Speaking of, wouldn’t the existence of the Yak make your suggested VElf change somewhat moot?)

Nah, it’s like a 50% discount.

Bruh you’re insane, it should go up by 20%. 10% is too generous.

I thought repair was the biggest.

It does feel like the department store charging you every time you wear their clothes.

The cost of mog is equal to the vendor cost of the piece you’re mogging. Do a whole set and it does get pricey.

I have no reason to change this mog unless I get an upgrade.

The only time i have had issues with transmog is when i start a new character on a new server with no one to funnel $ to them. idk what you are changing so often to cost 1k gold every time you change outfits.
Nowadays, I donʻt even notice the cost, its like paying for flightpoints: you get to a point where the cost is not punishing and eventually its pretty trivial.

Yea, when I get on alts that don’t have enough gold I literally quit them for long periods of time. I just don’t want to look stupid playing a character. I COULD get on my main and xfer gold, but the whole thing just irritates me so I stop playing.

This right here my friends ^ is what we call “WoW brain”. People who give their lives to defend random arbitrary limitations, restrictions, or things that make the game less fun for no logical reason.

Transmog is a fun part of the game, removing the cost isn’t going to ruin or damage your life in any way and will only allow people to have more freedom to constantly change their transmogs without ever having to worry about gold, such as they did for the barbershop customization.

See: “one of”

It’s not arbitrary, and there is a logical reason for it being there. Should I call you a “reply-without-reading brain”?

“Gear is a fun part of the game, removing the barriers to get good gear isn’t going to ruin or damage your life in any way and will only allow people to have more freedom to constantly change their loadouts without ever having to worry about farming…”

You’re getting somewhere, but the ‘this doesn’t affect you’ argument is not a good look. There are a million, billion things that ‘wouldn’t affect me’ if they were allowed to happen, but that doesn’t mean that they are good.

Transmog is a gold sink by design. Removing this gold sink would disrupt WoW’s economy. Disrupting WoW’s economy affects people who take part in it, which would include me if I still played any Retail.

That’s kind of a slap in the face AGAIN to Void Elves.

Considering we JUST got that toy on the Trader’s Post.

It’d make more sense to a racial like Vulpera’s return to camp, and give them a Void Portal Animation for it. Since they’re all about Void Rifts.

This feels unnecessarily argumentative. There’s nothing wrong with considering the impact to the economy as a whole and asking a question as to the frequency of the need to transmog.

Are you trying to misconstrued my words by changing transmog that you’ve already earned, to gear for your argument? Huh? Also I’m not going to take your “WoW economy” arguement seriously when the WoW token exists.

I dont even want to know how much ive spent on mog

I wonder if its in the statistics tab

Pretty sure it was due to the reforging vendor being removed.

I personally don’t care what they do with void elf racials, I just know they’ll cry if they don’t get something to make up for a perceived loss (even though they’d be saving money alongside everyone else if xmog costs were removed)
