Transmog Changes

Do you think they will ever just drop the transmog restrictions and let any of your toons use anything from your collection? Or at least let us use one armor type up and one type down?

Maybe one day, there’s already cosmetic outfits that let me dress like a mage and a mage look like they are in full plate.

I think a big part is how technically difficult it would be. Making an ancient system work in a new way seems to be treacherous.

If they loosen anything up, it may just be a “moving forward” change to new gear.

I would love if they could remove the restrictions though…

Yeah honestly, with how many things break the “rules” on what a class should or shouldn’t be wearing visually, I don’t even see the point in having the restrictions.

You could at least open it up backwards, Plate wearers can equip 99% of equipment, let them transmog everything, guys wearing Mail can do that with everything besides Plate, etc. etc.

Or just do away with it for all armor and be done with it.

My tinfoil hat theory is they’ve been buttering us up for it over the past couple of years by introducing so many cosmetic mogs. They’ve been slowly erasing any real justification for keeping mogs restricted.

Imo, this has been them testing the waters, and from what I’ve seen the response to cosmetic mog types has been overwhelmingly positive. So… I think we’ll see those restrictions lifted soon.

I would like a high definition black tuxedo mog, the crafted cloth looks like banta poodoo,

The peach tuxedo jacket in the trading post , is along the lines of what I would like to see, except a full set , in black.

No.

Keep the restrictions, this non-sense has got to stop.

I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but it’s definitely true that it’s hard to justify the restrictions anymore. Almost all of my mogs use at least some cosmetic armor-type-agnostic appearances (but that blatantly appear as cloth, or plate, or whatever, and just aren’t counted as it).

I think armor restrictions play a purpose. I do think we should be able to equip lower types of gear and only get hit with the lower stats rather than what it is now. In vanilla my shaman would sometimes wear some cloth back in the day.

I dont think it would be an issue. Not with all the “cosmetic” items we have. They could probably fairly easily just code them to be all armor type transmogs.

My original hunter has every piece of gear it has ever collected ever and so that mains lots of leather from the early levels, and I have a shammy that also still has every piece of gear it has ever equipped as well and that includes some leather stuff. My warrior did not keep any of it’s starting gear but that toon was my first or second toon on this account… it began using mail only. So… every class that once used to have a different starting gear type should still be able to mog to that as well.

And this seems to maybe be a glitch to me but I have seemed to have been able to have mogged a piece or two of mail on my warrior. 100% positive it was mail gear I mogged it too. It even had chain in the armour name.

Because exceptions don’t invalidate a rule

Yes, drop the restrictions.

I can wear a sun dress, a murloc sleeper suit or a bikini and tank a dragon, titan, or a god. And wear those in pvp as well. The restrictions no longer play a purpose

I think armour transmogs should remain but they should loosen up weapon restrictions for sure.

Why can’t my WW monk equip a staff? Makes no sense.

going to be real funny when they do that and we have the forum page blowing up saying they did not make the list in its own page.

Considering they removed an entire pet from warlocks because blizz thinks players are too dumb to know what something is without recognizing the silhouette, I doubt it.

You code… ?

they dropped the restriction on pants.
i think its only a matter of time before the armor type restriction also drops.
