80’s Transformers were great. Watched em all the time.
Then Adult Swim came out with Toonami and there was the wonderful thing called Gundam Wing and was soooooo much better.
I’m actually trying to rebuild my Gundam Wing model collection. I really want to build an Epyon again.
Oh gods The Transformers 38th cousins removed from their whoever’s side of the family that was…With great sadness to this day the only one my parent let me have were Gobots

Zero Century or Guardian Force?
Well I first saw New Century Zero. But I remember watching Chaotic Century early in the morning because cartoon network played it. Was just a nice thing to watch as I was waking up for school.

I have to side with Transformers, if only because I never managed to get into anime.
Fun Story:
My dad’s a (now retired) Lutheran minister, and would often do a children’s sermon on Sundays along with the regular service. There’s a day known as “Transfiguration Sunday”, when Jesus glowed with the Holy Spirit or something (Dad was a minister, yes, but he was still my DAD and therefore my brain tended to tune out). Anyway, to explain this to kids, he would borrow one of my Transformers. The idea was to show that it was both a car and a robot, two distinct things, while still being ONE thing. I’d just be quietly freaking out “don’t break it don’t break it don’t break it don’t break it!”
Transformers: Sentient robots who fought each other, could transform into vehicles , dinobots, Maximals, Optimus Prime voiced by Peter Cullen.
Gundam: Humans controlling robots but there was meaning in the stories of why they fought. Then every mech show afterwards had to have teenagers controlling giant robots with teen angst as part of the story telling.
Transformers by a mile.

Y’all are forgetting ExoSquad.
Gundam is for chads. Transformers is as beta a franchise you can get. The main characters of transformers cry about warcrimes. The main characters of Gundam eat. breathe, walk, and run for Warcrimes. They do warcrimes for breakfast.
