They were wrong with the clues why it is an outfit of the Kirintor because it has the logo of the violet bastion eye on the lower part of the outfit.

It literally has not even been a full year in DF. People speculating at this point is asinine, especially with the whole pirate thing. At least this one gives something not dumb to speculate.

Absolutely nothing.
It takes the art team some time to create these “for sale” transmog sets. Same goes fle the mounts. They just have the promos set up to be released at certain times when they are ready to go. That’s pretty much it.
You can overthink it and believe there is some sort of tie in other than what is already stated or “it just looks good” and has good theming plus matches other transmog thats out there. Or you can realize that it’s probably been sitting in the datafiles for over a year waiting for a release date like many of the “pirate” items that never got released from BFA (a pirate expansion).
