Transfers From Hardcore Realms Temporarily Closed

We’ve disabled all transfers from Classic Hardcore realms to other intended destinations, so that we can investigate and fix an issue with the service.

We do not yet know when the fix will be complete, and we will update this thread as necessary.

I guess there’s some part of ‘disabled’ here that isn’t translating. It’s turned off, so nobody is going anywhere until they turn it back on. Hope that helps!

Please consider adding the Paid Transfer Service back to Era, so that players can migrate their characters as they were able to from 2021 to 2024 with the proper and appropriate cooldown.

We realized that the character transfers are kind of meaningless in 1.15.X, since the Era realms are all connected and transfers aren’t enabled for the other realms, so they were almost entirely a money trap. In light of that, we removed them from the shop (except for the free transfers off of hardcore of course). The Lua error is a known issue that we’re working on.

I figure this is the best place to mention this… currently on the Doomhowl server the folks who are monopolizing the lotus market through whatever means they have, have started killing low level toons with these materials to send off to Dreamscythe instead of selling them in the Doomhowl server economy. The price isn’t high enough to justify selling it on our server apparently. This behavior surely isn’t intended and it’s causing a resource strain on the folks playing on Doomhowl. If there is a way to prevent this kind of stuff it’d be great.

Surely the market would balance out? If everyone xfers off with the Lotus, then existing Lotus prices would rise, meaning more people would sell it? The issue isn’t the xfers, it’s the bots farming the Lotus. THat should be the Blizz focus. But yeah, like that’s ever gonna happen lol.

And if everyone is flooding Dream with Lotus, then wouldn’t prices fall? Meaning xfers would be less likely to bother and more likely to sell on Doomhowl?

1. You don’t need to die to transfer to Dreamscythe.
2. It’s easier to bot on Dreamscythe than Doomhowl.
3. Prices are higher on Doomhowl.
