Transfers create more issues

If free transfers are made available, as people keep demanding, then you’ll end up with too many people trying to transfer. You could end up with a full server dead, when everyone tries to transfer to the newer servers, creating new high queues.

They could limit the amount of transfers, but then maybe half a guild doesn’t get moved.

The idea of a transfer sounds nice, until you consider the laundry list of potential issues. If you’re under level 15, you don’t have much time invested. Just rerolling is better for the overall health of the game. Sometimes… you just have to take one for the team.

You might be shocked on how many people would choose not to transfer. I don’t think full servers becoming dead would be an issue. Sitting in queue for 8 hours is horrific though. Yes, you can simply choose another server but when all your friends are playing together and have a lot of time invested, its hard to get them to just restart.

Not really, Blizzard could offer just one free toon Xfer. They don’t have to offer unlimited Xfers

Oh, there are problems both ways. But let’s be honest here. Transfers come with a new list of problems.

The reason why transfers are the best option is because they’ve already used them before. In the OG days they offered transfers from high pop servers to low pop servers. Many raiding guilds made the switch and yes it did suck for the people that were already on the low pop server but it needed to happen.

No doubt, I remember the transfers back then. There was no such think as a 12K queue back then either though. Different circumstances entirely.

There honestly hasn’t been that much time invested though! I know some players are just hard core mind sets and rushing to end cap as fast as possible, but for the rest, if your spending so much time in queue, moving is ideal.

I have already seen some guilds pick up and move already because not everyone can play together due to queue times. Sometimes leadership and a good mindset is needed if you want to support a guild and your friends.

Transfers are not some new experiment. We know they work. They worked in the past. So you can quit your bs.

no because you restrict the transfers only from full to low pop

I’ve felt like Blizz should have always offered (and I mean even for retail) 1 free transfer a month but off I go I guess.

Blizz can restrict transfers from specific servers to lower pop ones or new ones. They have done this in the past (a long time ago albeit) but they have the ability to do it.

That’s a much better idea than a mass exodus. It does create an issue of unfettered ninja looting or horrid behavior though. It would allow the community to balance itself though.

The problem is that if you’re not on that server, lvling on another server then trying to transfer back to play with your friends would be a mess if not impossible. Also, at the current rates of $25-30 and the fact that you most likely have to change your name its just a fun idea.

When Blizzard used to offer free transfers back in bc/wrath/cata they would only do it from populated realms to dead realms. You couldn’t make any realms more full this way…

This is why you do it in phases. Not everything at once.
