Would really love to see a paid service to transfer your account between US and EU. I would pay $100 for this to keep my years of work from my US account. I recently started a EU account to play with my girlfriend and our family. I would like my account removed from the US servers and moved to the EU.

This should have been a thing done for a long time. People move through regions for things like family, or military service fairly regularly. So not being able to have the work you did throughout the years without you is pretty trash.

I know and I don’t understand why ether people transfer data all the time, with how much technology has advanced. If you have customers willing to pay for a service why not have the option for it.
I could be wrong but i think its due to regional laws and stuff. The US version of the game has some extra stuff at brewfest that the EU does not have. I think there is some other stuff too.

Is that so? It got me really curious what kind of laws are in place that make this not a thing already since it seems like it’s a given for any kind of big online game service that operates in different countries. When Battle.net announced that their client is going to go worldwide I thought this was going to be a thing for WoW at first until I actually read into it lol. Just going to assume like Europe has some laws regarding the online data of their users and that might be why? Idk, but I support this since there’s probably a lot of people who were and are in OP’s situation.

As it is, i can’t buy tokens to sell. I can’t buy boosts. It’s ridiculous, because i used to be able to buy boosts at least. I did during EP. But now i can’t.
Only a matter of time before i can’t transfer or race change.

They have to make some changes for various countries too, especially china.

I TRIED with over 40 GMS talking and I did everything All I get is a respond " sorry we are unable to transfer Accounts between EU and US Because of Law Restrictions"

I fail to see how legal issues could be the reason. FF14 allows you to transfer characters across regions, i.e. from NA to EU or from EU to JP.

I don’t understand why this is a restriction if you transfer your account you would be playing the game in that region everything that’s not allowed you would no longer have access too anymore. Your achievements would still show but that actually activity you would no longer have access too it’s no longer a issue.

Beleive me I would love them to make that service I would pay I dont care man, all my work from Lich king on EU, but I moved over US and I play on US server now, it sucks to start all over but thats that, so if they can make a way to transfer from EU to US is great

Well, for one thing, that is an entirely different game. So it has no bearing on what WoW does.

Hello to all here I am Kinjins irl woman and this is something he and i have spoken about due to all the years of hardwork we put into the US version of the game. I am sure we are not the only ones who feel this way. I have read all the comments and we went to EU to be with my family and his future inlaws it seems to me it would be simple to have a algrorithm to remove stuff not allowed in that specific region. as the games have it automatically. I think Activision like some many other games have made this a cash cow and doesnt care that we the players pay out the wallet to be able to the services and the mounts and game time. I feel being able to have this service would be such a small thing they could do for their players. Just saying. Happy gaming all.

Every item on your character has a specific item id string attached to it. It would not be too difficult to enact a call thread to scan what I believe would be the .json file that your character would be saved as in such a transfer. This would flag those items for removal/replacement just as the character name is scanned to check against duplication on the target server.
I imagine it is more likely due to the obstacles in physically xferring the character files to the other server as they are physically located in two different parts of the world. Downloading and uploading files takes time and labor hours, and even if this process is automated the possibility for data corruption is still present, requiring labor hours and resources to resolve them when they occur.
