That may be your preference, but I have no interest in Classic +, which seems that many believe to be just another way if saying a level 60 capped retail in a vanilla world.
IMO, things like LFD, LFG, LFR, heirlooms, dual spec, modern class balance, etc. have no place in a game called Classic in any form, even Classic +.
It’s not necessarily about “QOL” changes, it’s about expansions that retain the mmorpg elements that made classic amazing, and doing it without rendering the previous world obsolete.
Tbc did not achieve those goals imo, however I want additional content down the road, on optional separate servers.
There wouldnt be a point to do TBC or wotlk servers simply bscauss that part of the game is virtually unchanged. Everything is there minus talent trees.
I think it’s important to point out that allowing people to transfer to the next xpac isn’t leaving the classic server alone. It’ll have a major effect.
If you let players transfer their characters freely across, something like half of them will, and it’ll tank the population. This isn’t a small effect. We’re talking about something that will kill some of the classic servers.
Just roll another on a retail server, same name. If what you are really trying to do is take gear from Classic to retail, not going to happen. No crossover to feed the collection frenzy on retail.
Yeah I haven’t heard many people say anything beyond a Wrath server. Wrath was really the heyday of WoW. They’ve never beaten those numbers of players.
No way then you’re introducing a whole bunch of ‘removed from the game items’ into retail. you could transfer across with literally 100’s of millions of gold worth in items.
In fact, I’ve been trying to tell people that their “Vanilla dreams” aren’t what they remember.
Having anything beyond Classic is a pipe dream ATM. However, should there be a decent amount of interest, TBC and Wrath might be considered. You never know.
Blizzard has already said, absolutely no crossover. For many reasons, not least of which is it would cheapen the rare vanilla items on retail that players acquired 15 years ago. Classic is not intended to be a farm zone for retail collectors.
