Transfer chat window settings between characters?

Classic 20th Anni Server: I’ve tried copy/pasting my main character’s WTF folder into the other characters but it doesn’t copy over everything, mainly the chat window. I’d rather not try to “wing it” by attempting to copy the extra tabs, size, position, font size, etc. to EVERY character. There’s gotta be a way to copy them right?

Sorry about the format of the post but copy/pasting is god awful on these forums.

While logged out, you need to copy the chat settings file:
[WoW]\_retail_\WTF\Account\[your account]\[realm]\[character]\chat-cache.txt
To the new ... [realm]\[character] folder.

But it won’t do anything if you have addon[s] that move the frame[s] after the game has set them up.

Is there some other way to do this? Trying it with a new character since pre-patch for 20th TBC.

It feel like nothing I do works. I disabled all addons, deleted everything in the character’s WTF folder (I’m in the right subfolder which is anniversary), only copied the chat cache file over, and it’s still just whatever the default window size/position is.

It’s super annoying.
