Transfer Aborted: instance not found

I am trying to queue 3v3 arenas (or just port to other places in general) and I keep getting Transfer Aborted: instance not found. I am not lagging. I do not understand what is causing this or how to make it stop. It seems to only happen when trying to load arena.

ISP: AT&T, SoCal

Hi Fleshed

You may have found this page already. If not give things a go there:

Transfer Aborted: Instance Not Found - Blizzard Support (battle.net)

I’ve seen this. It’s definitely connectivity related. I am still experiencing it. About 1 in 5 games results in ā€˜Transfer aborted’. I’m also experiencing issues with just pinging google or trying to navigate to worldofwarcraft.com immediately after the transfer aborted, for example. Experiencing 100% packet loss on the pings yet I’ll be on Discord with friends and there’s no issue. Have never had this problem in 10+ years of playing.

AT&T (my ISP) was doing stuff over the past week (they emailed us with a much much better plan with more upload/download) and I called to ask if I could get it, to which they said it won’t be available until 5/3 as they are currently performing the infrastructure upgrades in the area so we can have that plan. Not sure if that’s related to this problem.

Is it possible for me to run a tool or something as I play so maybe we can see where the droppage is occuring? I really really think it’s ISP related.

Sure thing - run WinMTR tests:

The instructions are on this Blizzard Support page:

Once you have the tool open enter the IP number for the server group you play on in the WinMTR box then hit start.

137.221.105.2 (West Coast)
24.105.62.129 (Central - Chicago)

(only the number - include periods)

Leave it run for 5 minutes or so. Doesn’t matter if you are playing or not. Then use the tool button that copies Text to your clipboard. Paste that on your thread here.

*You may need to alter or remove any URL addresses to paste on forum. You could also place the test results in a code block:

Open chat box - paste test then right click - ā€œselect allā€. Should highlight everything. Then press the preformatted text button along top of chat box. Looks like this </>.

Run one when things are working well - then another when they go south

Hey there,

The first WinMTR was showing around 3% packet loss after your modem on the ISP network (ignore the 23% loss, that’s not accurate). On the 2nd test when things are working well the packet loss is 0% (again ignore the 100% and 23% losses). So this does appear to be ISP related.

Hopefully whatever maintenance they are doing will get this cleared up for you, but if it persists beyond the upgrade I’d run another WinMTR and see if you can send it to them.
