Transfer Aborted Instance Not Found

I’ve been getting this problem for about 3 weeks now. It happens when moving from map to map (for instance Zandalar to Nazmir, etc. Would often happen while taking a flight path therefore it drops the character to the ground.
Also happens when teleporting to a city, using a hearthstone, getting called to a bg, etc. Anything that changes the character to another “shard”. It’s specially easy to reproduce from the gates of Orgrimmar to the Bountiful tables.

I’ve been asked to obtain a report with WinMTR: I obtained the following results:

Thank you.

you do not need to remove the IP addresses or names from the WinMTR. the only IP address that even remotely matters is the hop just after your modem. The winMTR does not need to be in code blocks. It acualy makes it harder to read

From the ping it looks like you are connecting from somewhere outside the US. Depending on your location it could be placing you on a shard in anyone of the data centers. can you run a Winmtr to all three data centers and post the results

It’s complicated to reproduce because, when I do the same thing many times it adapts and works, the same happens when I hearth, the first one often fails but if I do it again right after a fail it often works.

Anyhow the difference I see when I get transfer aborted is the “worst” at the “et-0-0-2-br01-eqch2-as57976-net” server/hop/router something that becomes 3+ seconds instead of the 200ms I get when it works ok.

This is reproduced by using my mage, going somewhere like stonard, shattrath, etc. Then going to Orgrimmar and then flying to the bountiful tables until they pop. If they don’t pop then you got transfer aborted. If they pop then go back to the Orgrimmar center and if it appears deserted then you got transfer aborted.

Edit: I’ve also tested with the US West server and got this:

And while I got transfer aborted I couldn’t notice anything out of the ordinary in this case. But I’m not sure to which server connects Burning Blade shards if there’s such thing.

Though I am not sure if it is the exact same issue, I keep having a similar problem when trying to zone into an arena match. I have lost 5x games due to instance transfer failures, which is followed by a wonderful deserter debuff.

Unfortunately, this will probably be the straw for me. Not having much fun anyways and this is one issue too many.

I’m just waiting for the sub to end. I’ll see how it goes in the future if there’s some content that’s worth it. Will probably spend a token.

Would have loved an answer but ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Keeps happening and Blizzard hasn’t said anything. Just cancelled my sub, not worth paying for this anymore.

Every other arena match is resulting in a transfer failure and me getting the deserter debuff. Congrats Blizzard, you lost a long-time fan.

It’s extremely frustrating, I tried with a free VPN but one that looks safe and it kinda works (no transfer aborted yet) but it adds extra latency (and I don’t want to pay a VPN to just play WoW).

Today the VPN trial ended and just for kicks I tried without it and BHAM!! Transfer Aborted while in flight path and got dropped to death as always.

Please at least give us a Parachute if for some reason the character is dropped from the flight path…

Praise Guldan!!! I want to play… And I’m super sure it’s not my fault because while in the same map it works perfectly… This sucks.

I’ve been experiencing the same issues too.
The only way to solve it is to just wait to solve itself.
30 mins tops in my experience.

It happens when crossing a border between zones or porting to a different zone.

So far, it doesn’t seem like Blizzard knows the cause of this.
In some other thread, a blue said it might be addons, but I’ve moved all addons to the desktop, so no addons installed.
Deleted cache too.

That was the first thing they’ve told me and the first I tested as it’s simple to do. Unfortunately it didn’t make any difference (which is pretty obvious since it doesn’t have anything to do in a client server communication between maps). Anyhow now that my sub is about to expire I’ve been testing all day and it seems (knock on wood) that it’s not happening anymore and I lost a whole month of gaming because of this issue.

To be honest I feel a little disappointed at the whole experience. I won’t sub again for a while.

It seems silly because otherwise the connection is perfect but the transfer aborted makes like having a gun to the head all the time, with 3 out of 6 bullets, when you fly to any location you know that there’s a lot of chances that you’re going to be dropped to death. Same but less important happens with the Hearthstone, Portals, etc… Oh and forget about PvPing you will be kicked with the deserter debuff guaranteed. And I got a whole month of that, and no-one except fellow players cared.

I have been experiencing this as well the last week or so. It is getting annoying falling to my death from a flight path. Or getting stuck in a dungeon or expedition then getting DCed and not able to log back in for 20+ minutes.

Sprokets<Cataclysm Crusaders> Please do not resurrect a number of older threads, I closed the others.

When you play World of Warcraft you transfer between a number of different kinds of servers all the time. When you go to switch zones to a new world server but the information doesn’t match this will proc a “Transfer Aborted” error. The most common reasons for this type of error is due to packet loss along the route between you and that world server, or corrupted UI which a UI reset will fix.

What I would recommend to troubleshoot this error is the following steps:

  1. Perform a full User Interface reset.

  2. Power Cycle your network’s modem and router, then once the system is back up flush your DNS cache.

  3. Once you get back into the game try pressing “Esc” → System → Network → Enable IPv6 → Disable the other two options.

Retest. If the issue continues run a WinMTR for 10 minutes when it’s occurring and post the results back here for review.

Thank you!

Except I have been playing this game for 7-8 years now and have never experienced this problem on this magnitude.
