Transcribe Your Characters' Names Into Chinese!

Is Hazumi a real Japanese name? I can’t find any information on it. (Or is actually Hadzumi? Hatsumi?)
“Converting” Japanese/Korean/Vietnamese names to Chinese works a little differently because they share much of the same conventions. If it’s just “Japanese-sounding”, then I can just transcribe it.

Gentarn - 根塔恩 (gēn tǎ ēn)

Hm I did one for Loh already, so I figure to do a new one.

War-God Kurk’hano.

War-God Kurk’hano - 战神柯克哈诺 (zhànshén kē kè hā nuò)

[Assuming War-God is the same Zandalari title used by War-God Jalak in the Throne of Thunder]

It is indeed nod

So his name roughly translated to

Root
Pagoda
Kindness

Huh, that’s interesting. I’m not the best when it comes to this language, so thank you, this is something to think on.

No. Just as badminton does not mean a “bad mint on” and a dandelion does not involve a Dan and his lion.

Transcription/transliteration into Chinese is by-and-large phonetic, not to be read literally.

ye this one, my dyslalia make me hear Hadzumi and Hatsumi like the same

Well this is neat. Thank you for doing this!

I have two, if you don’t mind.

Kinarra Whitehorn, female

Qeylis Ganbaatar, male. He’s my Klingon - Mongolian - Pandarean Warrior.

This is a cool concept

Zaeka’resh Ironeye

I can’t let the overlord have all the fun.

Mag’Riva.

I also wonder what is the approach for things such as my tribe the Revantusk where its a combination of a “name” like Revan with a proper noun?

Can also be 火神 (huǒ shén) — FIRE GOD! :fire:

Translator is correct! But the middle and last characters would make for a better family name in an actual Chinese name. These characters are enough to make up for an entire name on their own altogether, though.

Like with above, “根塔恩” can make up an entire name; however, I don’t think “根” makes a typical family name either.

I’ll let OP phoneticize and just tell you that “Whitehorn” is 白[牛]角 (bái [niú] jiǎo). I put 牛 in brackets because it means “cow”, so you may or may not wanna include that. Either can work!

鐵眼 (tiě yǎn) is “Iron Eye” and 鐵瞳 (tiě tóng) is “Iron Gaze”!

“恶齿” (è chǐ) is the Simplified name in the client, but it literally means “evil tooth”. “惡齒” are the Traditional characters if you want those!

(Edit: Sorry if necro’ing the necro; just saw the notifications for this!)

My name Juicepion because everyone in my guild calls me The Juice and the actual name I want, Juspion is taken  It’s from the sentai show 巨獣特捜ジャスピオン.

Sholaad’s name in chinese is “Gungfu”

Hatsumi - 初美 (chū měi)

Kinarra Whitehorn - 基娜拉·白角 (jī nà lā · bái jiǎo)

Qeylis Ganbaatar - 凯勒斯·钢巴特尔 (kǎi lè sī · gāng bā tè ěr)
[Assuming his name was inspired by Kahless from Star Trek]

Zaeka’resh Ironeye - 扎伊卡蕾什·铁眼 (zhá yī kǎ lěi shí · tiě yǎn)

Mag’Riva - 马格里瓦 (mǎ gé lǐ wǎ)

Chentao is correct. The Revantusk tribe is localized as 恶齿 (è chǐ), or “evil teeth”.

Juspion - 加斯比恩 (Jiā sī bǐ ēn)
[From MegaBeast Investigator Juspion’s Chinese localization]
