Transcendence BiS

Best Monk Ability ?

In theory when it’s useful/needed?

Yes. Probably.

But I found that I hardly ever needed it (doing mostly solo and group content) outside of purposefully prepping to make use of it (which didn’t happen often, for convenience reasons).

It’d be nice if it didn’t require two keybinds, and it’d be nice if the ability to place the spirit were off the global cooldown.

You can macro it as a cast sequence and it will work fine for 99% of all uses.

Definitely one of the more useful abilities, especially for pvp

People underestimate just how good it is until you see someone use it well

It is definitely probably our most powerful ability.

I only use it in very niche circumstances; I’m always afraid that when I use it, I’ll land in a puddle with no time to react. Mostlu use it for last boss in Ara Kara to give the group another puddle someone else can use.

Any thing that requires running from boss and then back in is a good time to use it.

Pop out :poop: on the ground whatever debuff it is and then if it was shorter than 10 seconds then just pop back in with maximum uptime.

I haven’t raided this xpac but I’ve used that strategy for multiple raid tiers

Drop spirit, fly through the air gracefully with flying tiger or lighter than air. Kul tiran racial a caster mob in the distance over to the pack, teleport back.

You can change shift to ctrl or alt if you prefer. And I’m pretty sure the syntax is correct - this was off the top of my head.

Not to be nitpicky, but that’s still two keybinds.

I swapped main spec from brew to WW in the last couple weeks. While I use it and love it, it was far more clutch tanking. As WW I pretty much only use it to snap back after a knockback. I only do keys so it’s from the perspective.

Definitely a defining ability of the class.

My favorite ability

It’s my favorite ability to just experiment with. Uses I’ve found.

  • Lay down near the edge of arena before a fight so you can escape quickly under fire.
  • Lay down When boss casts big aoe so you can get back in as fast as possible.
  • Healing you can talent escape from reality to lay outside harms way when fistweaving so you can pop out of combat. Heal some injured folks with soom. Pop back in and resume
  • Avoiding knockbacks.
  • In open world in a multilevel cave, place on a higher ledge to making exiting faster
  • In dornogal place near AH so you can go place an order and come back to the AH with out going around and up the stairs.
  • Generally snapping back and forth between buildings in cities.
  • in pvp, specifically wsg and twin peaks. Evading people as fc
  • many more I can’t remember
