For the most part, though I personally don’t like the connotation that “identify” has.
I didn’t wake up one morning and suddenly decide I’m going to identify as male. I went through thirty years of severe profound senses of wrongness about myself and my body without any understanding as to why. I suffered severe depression and constant ideations of my own demisez but am lucky enough to not be in the 2/3 that have made an attempt.
Then I found out transition from female to male was possible and I questioned myself and my symptoms, then I sought the advice of therapists and psychiatrists and doctors to help me figure it out and signs pointed to my bits being out of partity with my brain and sense of self.

I honestly don’t know what the difference is anymore between sex, gender, and gender roles in today’s lexicon.
There is absolutely a societal nature to gender roles, but that has largely evolved from the biological, reproductive relationship. In a strictly hunter-gatherer sense, men can’t bear children, breastfeed, etc. So roles kind of sprung from that, where women had to stay in a child-rearing role during pregnancy and infancy. It’s not like women are physically incapable of hunting and men physically couldn’t gather and stay close to the children, but roles were born from necessity. So, if gender is synonymous with gender role, I don’t think assuming a specific societal role requires a physical transition of any sort. It only requires a social one.
This separation of roles was of course abused by men throughout history, and as we advanced as a society that division of roles has become antiquated. Feminists fought against that for a good reason. However, it is nigh impossible to distinguish between man and woman without calling into mind the basic reproductive blueprint that humanity uses to perpetuate itself.
This just shows that, much like today, humans just make up whatever they want to feel good about themselves.
We learned nothing in 2,000 years.
And where did they get that information? God?

If you believe the good word, then yes.
If god designed me to have babies then why didn’t he give me the instincts to care for and desire to make babies? Those are kind of required for the babies to survive.

You literally have a trans person in here that says they are confused when looking at a paper that just says gender and they dont know what they are asking for.
But, gender says either of the two sexes (male and female). So what are those? If its a social construct as people are claiming, then what is a male and female socially?
