What is a male?

Oops, thatā€™s only true from a limited perspective. If you look from another angle 1+1 =10.

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who donā€™t.

Speaking of math, I know this is off topic but I just canā€™t let this stand. There is no fallacy with x=y. If x=5 and y=5 then x=y and thatā€™s fine.

The flaw in the math you were critiquing is the division by 0. If you have 2(0) = 1(0), which is what the sequence ultimately becomes, you canā€™t divide both side by 0 to get 2=1. It has nothing to do with x=y being a problem.

You listed two definitions tho.

Sex: Male

Gender: (either or apparently) Female

Someone that was assigned male at birth due to presence of sex organs, and/or someone who uses the pronouns he/him/his.

You too. :grinning:

Yeah, I didnā€™t think science was split on this basic principleā€¦:

Fortunately, it isnā€™t.

All major institutions now separate sex and gender.

Ohā€¦ the horror that 2 definitions might be the sameā€¦ its called a synonym for a reason. They can be used interchangeably.

When I took my father to the orthopedics and they asked for genderā€¦ what were they asking to be answered? They didnt ask for his sex anywhere else in the question sheets.

No, gender is, and has always been a social construct. Sex is a physical characteristic.

The issue arises that in most societies, gender roles have aligned closely with sex characteristics, so that there are social roles for those of male sex and different social roles for those of female sex.

While it is a common mistake to conflate them, they are two completely separate concepts.

Gender and sex have been separated for quite a while. Itā€™s almost like the meaning of words change over time and it takes a while for dictionaries to catch up.

No, gender is not a social construct.

Biologically, physically, and even the cells in your body say otherwise

Funny, when I went to the doctor last month, the form I filled out had a blank for sex and a blank for gender.

Literally all science says that you are wrong.

Official medical forms have Sex listed not Gender <3

So what were they wanting to be answered?

And what is a male? Answer the question.

This one didnt. It just asked for gender. So what were they asking for? Was I wrong for saying male?
