You will have to check the studies published by the UCLA Williams Institute for more details.
What we know is that the rates are higher when people face violence, family rejection, discrimination, and so on, as well as when they have physical or behavioral health disabilities, some of which are believed to have a repeated trauma component which plays into development of chronic versions (such as depression).
We also know that when people transition, their attempt rate is somewhat lower, though that is also dependent upon how they are treated.
What about mental health? Is this also a factor?

Behavioral health is mental health.
There has been two studies by Williams Institute at UCLA which has looked at attempt rates, and attempt rates when there are additional factors involved.
Some of them are pretty bad.
Basically, the base rate is pretty high, and then increases based on additional factors. Homelessness, housing discrimination, bullying at various levels of academia and at work, physical or SA at school or work by doctors or police, physical disabilities, behavioral health disabilities, relationships with family and close friends.

I feel like this thread has very bad energy so without reading any of it I’ll just say that I’m always happy to support other LGBTQ+ players and that the LGBTQ+ main thread in addition to talking about various characters and storylines in game as well as future storylines etc is also a good place in my experience for support

Being a little silly, but I agree. My cousin is trans (I was the first person he came out to) and we used to discuss his struggles regularly.
I’ll always be a supporter.
Though, I do agree that this isn’t really the place for a serious discussion on the topic. Too many trolls–for better and for worse.

Literally had multiple LGBTQ+ people leave recently as a result of controversy and yet you call it a ‘respectful and welcoming place’ despite being able to namesearch my char name and then having people refer to me in derogatory manners and misgendering me without you or the other mods lifting a finger. You even tend to partake and have your own laugh.
There are good people in there of course, but to sit there and act like you’re one of them and that you and others didn’t do anything wrong is incorrect.

You’ve told people what they should use for pronouns for everyone generically and never once have ever told anyone “I would like you to use this for me personally.” And sorry, but you calling people by a male name to mock them and misgender them is absolutely hypocritical.

That trans women have a distinct biological advantage over women in physical sports and in fairness to all women should not be allowed to compete in the same category.

Of course you parrot those incorrect talking points out, but did you know those with longer and denser bones have a distinct advantage? Those that are taller (in most sports) as well as those that have, and trained at higher levels of certain hormones? That includes completely natural levels ‘for them’ as well, and lets not forget body weight and muscle mass. Has a lot less to do with whether they’re trans women or not, but I also notice you’re not arguing the other side about how trans men and how unfair that is by your own logic.
If you really want to separate physical sports to make it ‘more fair’, you’re gonna have to figure out a lot of restrictions that would remove a lot of ‘top level’ athletes that are also CIS.

The OP is basically a known troll. His MO is to make threads drawing attention to marginalized groups, sometimes being absurd, and drawing ire towards those groups. LGBT+ is his favorite target.
He’s one of the reasons we made the LGBT+ megathread. But he doesn’t participate there because a whole lot of us don’t give him the attention he desires.

All those physical attributes are on average higher in men than women.
Stop 100 men on the street and measure them and measure 100 women and the men will be taller.
Weigh 100 men and women and the men will weigh more.
Do body composition measurements and the men will have more muscle.
Bone density.
Muscle mass distribution.
Heck even ape index slightly favors males.
These are just facts.
It has a lot to do with whether someone is trans or not. If I go through the first 20 years of my life developing as an “average” male then take hormones etc to alter that I still have (at least some of) the advantage of 20 years of male growth.
To say otherwise is intellectually dishonest.
(Now none of what I have said is anti trans or anti female they are simply facts about growth of human bodies so no one go false reporting me. False reporting is against TOS)

I think brining attention to the LGBT like this just causes people that hate it to hate it more cause its being shoved in their face, I hate posts like this im part of the LGBT but besides close friends i dont talk about it very much on a video game form unless im looking for a guild or something.

Note “on average” for one, and then you have to consider “Well athletes usually are not average in the first place, are they? That’s not very fair to those that are ACTUALLY average height, build, etc.”
Yet, you seem unwilling to push for a league that is all just… actually average builds, or say an average mean between them? That’s the issue with trying to argue this, simply because a COUPLE trans women end up doing quite well in sports post-transition. There’s not a large swathe of this occurring in the first place, is there? Plus again, all the comments about trans women in this regard yet completely ignoring trans men.
Pretty sure you’re the one that frequently does that, not me.
