Am I missing something or do the people actually doing the event get exactly the same as the people just afking? For the soup at least you got rep for doing the orders but I don’t see anything for these other than pages being added to the group bar.

Yesterday I patiently waited by the quest giver for my task. I finally got a task with 13 seconds left.
As far as I know, I got the full reward at the end of the event.
I’m just miffed that it took that long to get something.
That and I see Blizzard once again hasn’t learned its lesson regarding people…
Make the event zone a mount free zone and kill the ability to use toys! It’d also be nice if you could prevent them from using giant growth potions!

If you dig while you wait the group gets more tomes. You don’t need to be right near him to get the orders.
And if you are only doing the weekly yes the quest will give you exactly the same.
Today I was doing these because I was hoping to get enough for the mount. The first one I did in the day I got 1k of the mysterious fragments. Some of the later ones I was only getting 300 and the difference it appeared was the number of people digging and the number of people not doing anything. Since there was so many people not doing anything it appeared to me they must be getting the tomes as well.
Maybe I will try afking one and see.

The end boss you participated in? Yes, you get those rewards. But did you get a bunch of tomes in your bag?
I got 3 tomes
So maybe people get tomes for afking but each pile you contribute to digging also gives you 5-7 mysterious fragments (that probably should be doubled then more incentive to contribute) and I did get 47 fragments from completing one of the quests. I didn’t notice that before, it only shows on the chat panel.
They need to make the area around the quest giver at tent not able to mount up…make it a dismount area please…

So while waiting around for a “yes chef!” task, one can dig or goggle for artifacts, etc.? I had a task where I was supposed to pull 6 weeds but I could only find 3. I wandered around for several minutes looking for 3 more and some finally popped up right before the end boss appeared. I pulled those and completed the task. But could/should I have done other stuff while waiting for those weeds to grow?

Okay, I did a full one where I was constantly digging with people and ended up with 8 tomes. So it sounds like you only got them from what you did.
I have never got 8 tomes and I always play throughout. Some of my groups this afternoon I was only getting 3 tomes.
Just did one and I got 1340 fragments but we only got 5 tomes but 2 of them were epic - so getting epics was another reason so low this afternoon because two groups the epic came up last and we ran out of time before it was completed. I think people shouldn’t have rushed to kill the dragon.

The group was fairly huge and lots of people doing the digging. So maybe that’s why.
I love that it gave me a task to deliver a crate of artifacts, then gives me no indication or clue as to where this crate of artifacts is.
Very fun.
Edit: bonus points for the text over Mysterious Artifact Fragments saying to go to Provisioner Aristta in Valdrakken. Thanks for narrowing that down.

The last dig I did tonite with my druid she got a Purple tome and when I opened up it had a mount in it…woot…
