Traditional Race/Class combos or New Race/Class combos?

Basically what I’m asking is should I stick with the race/class combinations of pre cata, or should I loosen up my restriction and go with the new combinations? I’m still trying to fix my character list. Part of me wants to go Draenei Warlock with the Red skin but I don’t know. I wonder if it’s better to stick with Human or Gnome or use the Allied Races.

It’s better to play what you want.

Problem is I don’t know what I want.

You’re a silly boy your following those restrictions. Even if you want to go by the lore, Man’ari are the OG warlocks, long before the Draenei even became playable, they existed in the warcraft world.

Well, if you can’t make up your mind, I’ll do it for you. Race change all your characters to tauren.

You’re welcome.

No lol.

That’s a silly restriction to impose on yourself. In Pre-Cata you were specifically an Ironforge Dwarf following the events of WC3, now you can wear Wildhammer paint and roleplay your Dwarf Shaman fantasy and be from wherever you want.

That’s the key word here: Roleplay. If you can justify the background in your own head, nothing should restrict you.

Zandalari DH.

Nothing would look more awesome gliding towards the earth from a double jump. Nothing.

Do it! :smiling_imp:

Rail against the newer race class combos on the forums, especially draenei warlocks. But secretly enjoy your fel-blooded man’ari eredar warlock when you think no one is looking.

That’s…That’s what my friend does…

Man’ari pally and priest.
Because contradiction is fun and I want my holy demon.
I just say “the light for some reason unknown to them, chose them and they rebelled against the legion.” or something along those lines.

I mean it seems Man’ari are capable of using a twisted version of the Light. Could even take a page out of the Blood elves playbook.

Play whatever race/class combo you want. The only difference is racials and unless you’re hardcore into min/max, those don’t matter.

Guess technically another difference is what you like better for looks/transmog.

Would probably go Blood Elf on everything. Well, if the standing posture were better.

Nothing seems wrong but what’s stopping you? :robot::thought_balloon:

What’s most important is that you go a Draenei of some form.

From there the world is your oyster though.

Do it. New race/class combos are awesome.

For me, it’s all about what kind of backstory I can come up with. I don’t RP on all my characters (probably only 2, maybe 3 of them), but I at least come up with a backstory for all of them. Sometimes it’s a more traditional character (Tauren Hunter, Orc Warrior, Draenei Paladin) and sometimes it’s a less traditional one (Pandaren Warlock, Orc Priest, Tauren Rogue).

I still have yet to meet another draenei rogue at max level.

Sounds like you’re ready to… Experiment.

Don’t worry. You’ll like it on this side of things.

Think my chief problem is I know I want to level a Draenei for Heritage coming up. But since I have no idea what the set will look like. (I’m hoping nomad looking like the artwork from TBC way back when). Also Draenei is just… it’s a weird race for me.
