I had 1800+ tenders saved coming into this month. For each month I decide what I absolutely HAVE to have and buy that only. Sometimes that means not purchasing things I’d like, and waiting for those to come back around. I bought both the sale mounts easily and will get the bonus reward. I thought that was how the trading post was supposed to work? Not that you could clean it out of most or all content every month because then people will be angry that there is not a stead supply of new items to be had for what amounts to just playing the game and then those people will call it a failure. While I could see a tiny increase in tender earned or in prices reduced, I wouldn’t want to see people able to just clear out everything every month or the TP won’t last long.
If you ask me, at some point you have to be done. There’s no need to turn the post into another treadmill. Adjust the prices instead – the Polearm this month being half of your monthly allowance, for instance, felt a bit too much when it’s nearly as expensive as a mount. Maybe if it had included a Staff variant, especially for warlocks who benefit from Fel themed weaponry, it would have better justified the price.
Honestly the prices are in my opinion 3 times what they should be on some items. Mounts should be at or around 400-500 and transmog items should never go above 100 and tbh I personally feel they should be at around 50-75 but I know that’s pushing it lol. I feel pets should be at around 200-300 depending on their quality. But seeing transmog pieces at 400-500 is just insulting.
This month really proves how skewed the prices are compared to how much we have. Multiple transmog pieces are 300-500 and look amazing and yet we have two mounts forcing you to basically spend your entire savings just for one of them alone. God forbid you think any of the weapons or the pet is awesome. I still have an item from the second month frozen because I can’t afford it each month due to an item in the month being just as awesome.
Their excuse for this seems to be that items will return. Yeah sure but how long will that take, and what happens when they return in a month where the new item is just as cool or better. It’s forcing players to choose one or the other without knowing if the other will be any good. It’s basically emotional gambling lol.
I would be interested to know how long they intend to add an entire new selection of items each month and when the items might start to rotate back in. I’ve had in my head that timeframe is about a year, but curious if that is too long or too short to others.
The prices of items(multiple at 600 or more) and the capped amount per month(1000) seem to indicate that once the rotations begin we will be able to catch up. Otherwise, as pointed out above, the Trading Post just turns into a treadmill players can’t catch up on.
I like the idea of being able to go above and beyond for extra tenders a month, but that can be a slippery slope of making everyone feel they have to do it
I personally have not been interacting much with this new system, but Im in collecting discords where there are people who are using it a lot, and the request that they have is to please give a repeatable method of obtaining Tender, right now there is a hard cap each month, which is less than the required tender to buy everything for that month,
Meaning even for player’s who are willing to put in extra effort, its simply impossible to earn enough tender.
Things will return over time, but each month new stuff is added as well and the backlog of items they want is building more and more each month
Items in May were quite underwhelming which allowed me to buy my frozen item from February. One lesson I learned is to save my leftover tender for the next month rather that spending it on not so great items from the current month.
By the development on PTR, it seems we’re going forward with what might be a kind of currency exchange/trade for the shop - or hopefully for the vendors as a gold sink (but you know it is going to be the shop)
This is a pretty disappointing development. Honestly.
I’ll withhold judgment until there is a proper announcement of their purpose, but I agree that if it’s an option to get more tender through the cash shop, it’s a really disappointing thing to see. The Trading Post earned a lot of good will from the players, and seeing it turned into just another bundle of microtransactions would be to lose all of it.
Very concerning finding. If the trader tender goes to the cash shop, at least I hope they will remove the cap on the tender that we can earn through activities.
Please blizzard no more micro transactions.
With January hosting a large sum of things that require a lot of tender, is blizzard looking at increasing the monthly allowance or decreasing the price tag for items?
They haven’t announced such plans but at least they confirmed than all of the items would rotate back at some point in the future.
