Trading Post and Cosmetics

I’m not sure if this has been covered elsewhere. Returning player that might not be fully aware of Blizzard’s position on the following.

I purchased the Crimson Nexus Crescent on my Warlock to add the costmetic to my backpack for my Felguard. Rather than placing the item in my bags, it just added it to my collection. Is this just an issue with the Trading Post? I’ve received several cosmetics over the course of leveling and questing in DF and I’ve added Fel-Ridden Divider to my backpack to use in rotation for the Felguard’s equipped weapon.

I understand that once I right-click the item and add it to my collection that I can no longer have that item be used in the Felguard equipping process. However, the Trading Post item auto-add to your collection rather than placing the item in your bag and allowing you to determine if and when you right-click it and add it to your collection.

For us Locks that dig on the various 2H’s out there, can this be an option? I’ve even farmed old raids for various weapons that my character would certainly be unable to equip or even 'mog, but this is an avenue that presents great opportunity for Locks in this one aspect of our ‘flavor’. What say you? Is there a legit reason the player’s choice is removed in this situation and auto-applied to our collections?

It’s not an issue, it’s intended. It’s to ensure that the cosmetics are added to collections and can be collected by any class/spec. It’s not intended to be put in your bags for your Felguard.

Same reason there’s warning labels on everything: people are dumb. If they had it go into an item in your inventory then they’d probably have to wade through customer service tickets from people who lost it in their bags and think they didn’t get it. Warlock felguards are just the unfortunate victim of that.

That would actually be a request I would like. Have the felguard take from your transmog collection, not what’s in the bag.

I could see this work with a minor glyph.

Glyph of Transmog

You gain a character panel for your minion(s) allowing transmogification of weapons.

Been asking for this for years. My Taeschelach rotting in my collection deserves to be held by a fel guard.

But how? Warlocks can’t see or use those weapon types and the barbershop doesn’t work with collections.

I dunno. If my ATT addon can keep track of transmog I can’t use on my alts, I would guess the game itself is able to.

“DO NOT USE IN SHOWER” - on hair dryer. I so want to know who would do this? And might it not be better to remove them from the gene pool?

Though I like the idea being able to equip the fel guard with items from the transmog list instead of just what’s in you bag.

Yeah, it’d be nice. Not sure how they could go about it though.

Keeping track of things is very different from utilizing transmogs on pets. It’s why hunter pets are first stable slot and Felguard weapon has to be in your bags.

I’m unsure how they’d work around that coding.

Right, I understand. This is why I asked about the notion of auto-adding. I receive other cosmetic items that aren’t auto-added to my collections, I have to be that ‘next-step’ by right-clicking it and completing the process.

Not doing so allows the FG to equip, it’s win-win. The only problem is/was, I need the item in my bag, not my collection(s).

The various quests throughout DF that grant the cosmetic Dragon Shovel or Rake or whatever they are, all of those have to be added to your collection once you make a choice in the quest completion screen… these really should be no different. I understand that it’s “easier” but that doesn’t mean it’s not a bit of a departure from what player’s have come to expect. If my bags are full and I complete a quest with a reward, guess what?! The game doesn’t just arbitrarily decide what doesn’t need to be in my bags and sell some stuff off, it tells me, YOUR BAGS ARE FULL. So the TP should really be no different as far as that goes.

They added that because people do stupid things.

However! They have another way to keep people from doing this very stupid thing, and we’ve seen it done with the Heart of Azeroth, Ashjra’kamas, and Legion Artifacts! They can’t be deleted. They could add a vendor beside the TP to swap out the cosmetic right-click version with an equippable level 1 version which would retain the item’s appearance whilst still granting the account-wide unlock. Not an elegant workaround, but certainly doable and within precedent.

It wouldnt be to dificult, it would be similar to druid barber where you can choose which form to customize. So with that in mind it when a lock opens xmog window it will have options for thier minions to customize with collected appearances. True they currently have no access to view 2h weapons like swords but this would not be to difficult to add i would assume

As I said, barbershop doesn’t work with collections. They aren’t tied together. Which means you’re asking for them to incorporate both into one and separate which weapons or transmogs could be accessed. That doesn’t sound that easy to me.

Maybe i dont understand the post, but whats the difference if you right click it in your bag, or if it gets added automatically

Edit because the text on that is so wrong. LOL

Your Felguard will equip a random two-handed axe, mace, sword, or polearm from your backpack.

But the barborshop keeps track of druid forms you unlocked even if that druid never unlocked it, yes its not the same thing i never said it was. What i meant is they would be able to it would just take additional work.

Druid forms are not weapons. They were separated to be put into the barbershop.

The difference is that forms aren’t collections. So as I said, they’d have to link the collections, then filter out most just to get to ones that can be used on only one demon.

Basically, what you’d be doing is giving Druid forms only specific weapons through the barbershop. And I don’t know how possible that would be or how much work would be involved.

So like a drop down in the xmog menu where you select different weapon types including legion artifacts that are specific to each class, so in this scenario lock opens up transmog window where they find icons for the demons even when they are not currently summoned. This would then let you select appropriate xmog for that demon if it can use an alternate appearance

Such as
Felguard icon> drop down menu showing
-forms
-two handed axe
-two handed sword
-two handed mace
-two handed polearm

This in turn would remove the need for the glyph (which wouldnt be unusual) and pull from your accounts appearance list. The xmog window already has a system in it to sort what apearances you collected and further sort it into weapon types. This would litterally be similar to adding a new class to the game just on a smaller scale.
