Trading in-game gold

Are players permitted to trade gold from one version of WoW to the other? ie: If I wanted to give someone 50,000 gold in Shadowlands and that same someone gave me gold in WotLK Classic.

Is this kind of transaction permitted?
Is this a non supported transaction?
Will players get banned for doing this?

While it is permitted, it is unsupported. Many times, one of the players will have purchased gold and then you are at risk of being suspended or even banned if they did so for having been the recipient of the gold they illegally purchased.

Thanks. 100% guarantee that I did not and do not purchase gold using real world currency. I legit have what I consider a lot of gold in Shadowlands…and simply want to find someone to trade gold for gold.

Here’s to hoping that I do not get burned and or scammed.

I will forever stand by that if they wanted players to do this sort of thing, they would offer a sanctioned way to do it.

It is an unsupported transaction. But I say that knowing that within the past week or so at least two people have come here to CS who have been suspended for it. You may be providing your gold from retail, being legit through honestly earned means. You have no guarantee that the person doing the trade got their gold honestly. If they bought it from a third party/illegal site and gave it to you? Fruit of the poisonous tree. You may be suspended for receiving illicit gold.

Oooooh. Wait. I’m tired. Sleepy and now understand what I am being told by you and Jetsum. Yikes. You’re right. I don’t want to get burned for possibly obtaining gold from another player that was NOT legitimately earned. Hmm. Interesting.

Thanks for the feedback!
