TradeSkillMaster Dysfunctional

Hi, guys. I haven’t played in a minute and upon deciding to return I downloaded TradeSkillMaster (TSM). I have both the desktop application as well as the main TSM add-on and its AppHelper add-on. However, I notice I am unable to search for items on the auction house.

Is this a known bug? Am I doing something wrong? Does the TSM desktop application need to be open whenever I want to use TSM in-game (I do have it running)? Thank you in advance!

TSM has its own support site

and support discord server

If the support site doesn’t have your answer, ask on the Discord Server and they will help you there.

That’s a definite nope. Addons can’t communicate with things outside of the wow environment. Can’t speak to the rest as I don’t use TSM.

I can’t speak for TSM as I don’t use it, but add-ons can communicate OUTBOUND with anything that can read a Lua table. They just can’t receive communication inbound and updates to outbound data are limited to those times when the file buffers are flushed (from a player-controllable point if view, this is when you do a /reload or (I think) zone somewhere that causes a reload screen or log out or exit game).

If all you want is to EXPORT your data for TSM to see, as long as TSM can see your saved data files (I’m assuming that’s how it works - that’s how I’d set it up), just type /reload any time after you are certain there is significant new data for it to see and you’re golden.

This has no bearing given the context.

I wasn’t replying to the OP. I was rebutting this statement.

Addons CAN communicate, albeit one way and only on /reload, /logout, /exit, or some zoning acts that cause a UI reload.

IF what the OP is wanting is for his current-session data to be passed to TSM, that can be done (assuming TSM directly reads his data files).

If he wants data to go the other way, it’s more difficult.
