Hello everyone
For those interested, and annoyed by the trade chat spam, I just found an addon that has been a godsend to me. It’s called “Global Ignore List and Chat Spam Filter” and it actually works! (I know because trade chat is now…empty - lol)
You can add manual filters and get rid of most, if not all, carries/boost spams, and everything else, like politics, too.
/gi gui is the command once you install it.

but that still does not escape the fact that blizz is not cleaning out chat spams those lazy bums
I gave up and turned off Trade. Don’t miss it. Turning off BG chat can be liberating too.
Tbh the fact that this kind of thing isn’t built into the default UI, and the fact that Blizzard doesn’t seem to care about these bots anymore, tells me they’re probably getting a cut of the profits from these bots. I mean the bots directly compete with the WoW token so it makes no sense to me how they wouldn’t be devoting entire teams to banning bots 24 hours a day.
I do agree that the game’s UI could do with a set of filtering options.
Trade chat is fine as is I love the general bs going on
